  • Frying Pan

I need a new frying pan, 8 inch, maybe 10 inch. and I want it to be a pan that I will love forever and never have to replace. I have an old cast iron 12 inch and I love it, but its so heavy but I may just get another one of those. Does any one have any suggestions.

Calphalon One Infused Anodized 10-Inch Fry Pan

I have one and love it.....they have them at the px for like $75....they are one of the best I have found and I am very please..they say no dishwasher but I have washed mine in there and it comes out fine....you do have to get a lid separately but no biggie .......I like the weight and the ease of cooking in it..the temp difuses evenly.....

If you don't have anything similar yet, you may want to get a sautee pan, something easy to toss veggies/cubes of meat in as well as fry inside of, just so you have a little more flexibility.

For this just search out anything heavyweight, stainless steel interior, and either solid try-ply thick construction, or with a thick copper or aluminum disc in the base.

Cook's Illustrated tested 12 inch pans and they ranked them in this order
        1. All-Clad
        2. Caphalon
        3. Farberware

The above are medium weight (3-4 pounds) and apparently distribute the heat well

cool I bought Cephalon over All-clad because of the price....when it came down to how it felt in my hands I liked the Cephalon and after several years I am still happy....but this is only MHO!!! that is only for skillets and sauce pans for oven and stove I love Le Creuset
