Broccoli in soup is a must. Your mom never heard about creamed broccoli soup?
I sometimes make a soup out of chicken broth with some celery, onion, cauliflower and broccoli in it. Once the vegetables are boiled I put it in the blender and then back in the pot and add some cream. It is really good.

there's nothing wrong with putting broccoli in soup, or any other legal veggie you like for that matter! (as Liv mentioned carrots are not induction friendly).
As long as you liked it, then it should make no different. I don't think there are many rules to soup..just do what tastes good! And it's a great way to get in your veggies.
for the record you can get cream of brocolli soups here in the grocery stores and at restaurants (not usually low carb tho), so yes there are brocolli soups out there.
my aunt told me just now. that she eat broccoli soup to loss weight hehe...okay..so broccoli is good!!she say she would eat broccoli soup every evening to loss some weight.
