  • Beef - Is anyone concerned

There are so many studies that talk about how red meat is bad for you and that you shouldn't eat to much of it. Is any one conserned about these studies and has it affected the way you eat. Do you eat more chicken do you think. (As I chow down on a rib?)

I guess any abuse is bad.
I eat red meat 3 times a week and I feel perfect!
I´m my best friend and my worst enemy.

I eat more chicken/turkey and fish, but it's not because I fear the alleged beef health effect. It's because I can't cook beef well.... at all...seriously, I can turn a filet mignon into shoe leather!

Not really. I eat a 5-6 times per week since nothing beats a ribeye done right on the grill. I do eat chicken almost every day for lunch simply because a grilled chicken salad is about as easy to get and still feel you are eating something substantial. I welcome however reports like this since it might drive down beef prices at the grocery store making it cheaper for us red meat carnivores.

I don't do red meat much anymore, not because I'm afraid of it being bad for me though. I wasn't to worried about it when I ate it on a regular basis either.

I love red meat. In fact, I feel better when I eat it than I do when I eat poultry/pork. But I buy the stuff that is hormone/antibiotic free. Makes it seem a little safer to me to be eating so much of it.

I am not worried at all....but then I eat beef about once a month in a bowl of Pho'!...I am like Not2Late I can screw up even the best of beef to the point where it is a huge waist of time and money for something I really do not care for much...
I do not worry about how much red meat I am eating because we eat very little as a family....

I do worry about the dairy fat I am eating..because I use way too much cream, butter and cheese....oh yeah and sour cream...I love dairy products of any kind .usually buy "organic" but not always.....any dairy is my favorite...from goats from sheep from cows and do I worry? ...yeah I worry first .... then I eat it anyway!!!!... my cholesterol shows just how much I love it... :sadblinky funny eating all this fat loosing all this weight and my cholesterol is the worst it has ever been ...go figure...

fish and seafood are my meats of choice....I love lamb but only eat that 3-4 times a year....as the cost is pretty high ....turkey is my least favorite meat ...cornish hens are wonderful and I buy those more often than chicken ....easy to cook and taste great....

I think if you do eat a huge variety ..try to eat and encourage organics....eat as close to the sources as possible ....and eat seasonally ...you are much better off....then the chances of all the things we worry about are not quite so concerning...

Pau makes sense too much of one thing is evil..my dad used to say the same thing ..."if you eat too much of anything it will make you sick and fat!"...

I don't worry about it at all! We eat a big juicy steak just about every Sunday! Sometimes 2 times a week. We tend to eat more chicken I guess, just because its cheaper, but I love my red meat! :joy
