  • 0 carb sweetener ?

    Stevia extract powder, Sweetzfree, EZ-Sweetz.
I was even looking at Erythritol being a sugar alcohol - zero carb.
I could have sworn reading some where that Liquid splenda is zero carb, but i cannot find anything to confirm that now.

    I ordered a bottle of the ez-sweetz.
I was thinking about ordering a bag of the Erythritol and maybe some Stevia and maybe trying to concoct a mixture of the two and see if i could come up with a decent sweetner to have around for coffee and such.

Anyways if anyone has an opinion or idea for a recipe for a true 0 carb sweetner please leave a message here.

    Thanks.

Yes some sweeteners are indeed zero carb. Liquid splenda is one of them. But we still are limited to only three servings a day

Just curious liv is the 3 rule because of stalling potential ?

That's part of it , but feeding your sweet tooth is also one of the reasons. If you continue to eat everything sweetened you never readjust your body's idea of what is sweet. Break that habit and you'll find that a lot of things are quite naturally sweet once you start to taste real foods without that artificially high level of sweetness.

I have used Stevia for years - not labeled as a "food" product yet despite being a plant product and NOT some freaky chemical concoction, so you have to look for it over with vitamins and other supplements.

In general, I love it, supposedly has no effect on insulin, etc. The only thing I will say I have noticed BAD about it is that to me, it is absolutely HORRIBLE in coffee -
I don't know if it just some weird mix between the stevia and the coffee or what, but to me, it's bitter as all get out when mixed together. Admittedly, I am somewhat picky about my coffee and it's flavor.

It was probably just as well that didn't work out because then I just learned to like coffee that wasn't sweet. That was several years ago. Now I can't imagine bastardizing my coffee with some type of sweetener unless it was a dessert coffee, LOL!

I have used stevia for a number of other things though, and never noticed this bitterness problem when used for other things.

I'll take a natural plant product over a chemist's creation anytime I am given the option.
