  • Recipe conversion help?

I found a great looking recipe on here the other day. Copied, pasted and printed, now I can't FIND it. Argh

    So, here are the ingredients:

    3 eggs
    70 grs heavy cream ( 2,46 oz)
    100 grs soft cheese ( 3,52 oz)
    50 grs bacon (1,76 oz)
    90 grs edam cheese ( 3,17 oz)
    salt

Ok... so I got online and the oz are right, it just isn't making sense to me. Do I just round up. Ex: 2.46 oz = 2 and a half oz?

I feel like (and probably am) a super retard, but I cannot wrap my mind around 1.76 oz of bacon. One piece? The recipe was for like 9 muffin / quiche things.

Sorry for being a dork, but any help will be appreciated!!

LOL! Those must be Pam's breakfast muffins. They are really good.

Yes, you can round things up, they don't need to be exact. For example, you could use

    3 eggs
    2.5 oz heavy cream
3.5 oz cream cheese, softened in the microwave
    2 oz bacon
    3 oz edam cheese, grated

I don't know how much a slice of bacon weighs, but you can weigh 2 oz or just add as much bacon as you would like to have in the muffins.

I would just round up or down to the nearest half oz. I think that 2.0 oz of bacon is about 8 slices. I know that 2 thin slices of the bacon I use is 13g. There are approx 28 grams in an ounce, so 4 thin slices per ounce. Hope that helps.
