Does anyone know how to convert from splenda packets to granular to liquid? A lot of the recipes I have use one or the other...I've been guessing or ripping open 14 packets for a recipe bacause that's what it calls for when it would likely make more sense to use granular.

In terms of sweetness... 1 packet of Splenda has the sweetness of 2 tsp of granular Splenda (or 2 tsp of sugar).

Liquid sucralose like Ez-Sweetz has the sweetness of 2 tsp of sugar in one drop.

I'm not sure if they behave the same in recipes though... I've heard they don't, but don't quote me on that. I don't use Splenda.

Thank-you! I'm not baking with it, so I'm not too concerned about how it behaves, but I'll keep that in mind for later (much later!). I also can't get Liquid Splenda here, so it isn't an option until I can get to the States to do some shopping.

I've was advised by the company to use the kind of Splenda a recipe calls for.

            Re: Splenda conversion packets-granular-liquid

Just in case you run across some liquid stevia sweetener...

I have some Sweetleaf brand liquid stevia drops (just sweet, no flavor) -

            - the Splenda packet supposedly equals 2 teaspoons of sugar

            - I assume most stevia packets are formulated to be about equal to other sweetener packets, and that is how I use those and it seems to work fine

            - this Sweetleaf brand liquid stevia drops requires 4 drops to equal one of the sweetener packets according to the label (2 drops per teaspoon sugar equiv)

I haven't tried these drops in much cooked or baked items yet, other than I did try to sub some of it in a keylime cheesecake recipe. It did not work for me, but then again, neither did the granular Splenda - OMG it was sour! I ended up adding both the liquid stevia drops, the rest in granular Splenda, and then added a bunch MORE granular Splenda, and it was still very, very, tart. Plus it had all that extra Splenda in it, so I had to eat only partial pieces and recruit help to finish it off.

Hope this is helpful at some point (the equivalencies, not my bad keylime cheesecake, LOL!).
