  • need help making cheesecake

    I am not a cook, have no expereince at all and i baked a low carb crustless cheese cake. I couldnt find liquid slenda so i used alternative liquid sweetner. I baked it, and it turned out ok, the texture was just like cheese cake, there were cracks but I did not eat it because it wasnt sweet enough. Like it tasted like cheesy/eggy...

    I put more drops then were required but still had that problem..

    Question is, when they say 1 and 1/4 cup splenda, does that mean they want that much sugar or spleda equivelent to sugar ?

    can someone give me a newbie guide on making a good low carb cheese cake..

    Well, my cheesecake recipe calls for that much granular Splenda, and it's "too sweet" for me ... so I have it reduced to just under 1/2 cup.

    A short answer to your question is ... yes, they're expecting you to use that much Splenda.

    What the equivalent would be in "drops" of a liquid sweetener, ... well, you would want the sweetening equivalent of 1 1/4 cups.

    The problem with switching out the granular for the liquid here is that you're not getting the bulking effect of the granular ... which the cheesecake may need.

    Also ... the cracks ... while they might not be what you intended, they happen.

    Also, you might want to avoid these kinds of sweets on Induction ... one of the purposes of Induction is to break your addiction to "sweet".

    Can you provide a link to the recipe? Maybe there's some clues there.

          What recipe did you use? One of those from here?

              here is what i made

              the texture and everything was perfect, but just felt as if something was missing, the sweetness to over power teh eggy/cheesy taste

                    i know its suppose to be chesey but it should not taste as if I am eating eggs mixed with chseese. I put like 80 drops of sweet and low liquid

                          Looking at their website, 1 cup of sugar = 2 Tbs. SweetNLow.

                          Maybe you should have used granular sweetener?

                            its eqiv to 1. 1/4 sugar. Maybe if you could taste my cheesecake u know what I mean by cheesy/ it feels incomplete, like the two flavers are clashing not working together, i
