  • Fried Cheeses

I bought a big chunk of queso blanco yesterday and had some of it fried for lunch today. :yummy

All you do is slice the queso blanco into 1/4 inch slices. Heat up a frying pan, add alittle oil. Put the cheese slices in and let it cook until golden brown. Flip and brown on the other side.

Other fryable cheeses are haloumi, kasseri, queso para freir.

Tomorrow, I might try a fried cheese pizza (fry the cheese, smear on some tomato sauce).

    Anyhow, try it. It's delicious.

I had some of it this morning with fried eggs (if I was going to fry the cheese anyway....) Delicious! Beats pancakes for breakfast, imo.

Hmmm.. I'll have to try frying cheese (usually bake it.. fried sounds better) if I ever get to eat any of my cheese. Seems my kids are part mice and love to nibble on cheese.

Try the queso blanco that Not2late is talking about, it will get browned a little but it won't melt and run all over the pan.

There is a cheese I get at the Middle Eastern market that is good this way too, I don't know the name of it though.
