    Lo Carb MILK!!

I found this stuff yesterday in the dairy case. Hood is a Boston, MA dairy. I'm not sure if it's available everywhere. It is Atkins approved. Perhaps Atkins will contract with local dairies all over the country. I tasted the chocolate and it's pretty good. With a serving of atkinc cereal, it'll be a nice alternative to bacon and eggs from breakfast.

"Carb Countdown initially launched in the refrigerated dairy section at select Wal-Mart Supercenters throughout the United States, and will be rolled out to other retailers in the near future".

This is what it said on the website. Hope it's true.

It has a super long shelf life, so maybe distribution to the entire country won't be a problem.

I got both the chocolate and regular carb countdown milks. The chocolate is great, and the regular is good. I did notice a very slight aftertaste on the regular milk, but nothing like what the diet sodas have. The chocolate is also one carb less than the regular.

Also, this stuff lasts a whole lot longer than milk! Woohoo!!!

I'm looking forward to the Hood low carb milk coming to my store. I just tried the Slender Soy chocolate soymilk and I can't believe how good it is. I absolutely hate soymilk and have tried several different ones but someone talked me into trying the Slender Soy and I'm glad I did. So if you can't find the Hood low carb milk try the Slender Soy. Here's their website:

              Hood Low Carb Milk

It's available at Stop & Shops in CT!!! WooHoo cereal for breakfast again! Nice change from eggs every once in a while.

FYI Klondike and Beyers have Low Carb Ice Cream also at Stop & Shop and about the same price as the regular ice cream.

Wouldn't advise Ice Cream every day, but it's a wonderful treat on OWL.

I tried the low-carb milk as well, it was great. BUT, be careful cooking with it. Cooking with it was Y-U-C-K-Y

Wal-Marts, and (if you live in Washington, Oregon, California, Nevada, or Idaho) WINCO are the stores I've found so far that carry the Hood Carb Countdown milks. I personally enojoy the chocolate milk as a reward to a good days worth of eating. I think it only has 2 net carbs per cup which I feel, is great!

No fair! Safeway up here doesn't offer it, just soy milk. I'll bug my dad about it since he works at the NW distribution center :smileangel

I would love to try this if I wasn't lactose intolerant. Milk makes me sick, gives me stomach cramps etc. The last time I could take :vomit in milk was back in 2nd grade. Soy milk is just nasty and if I have alot it makes me feel dizzy.

Kickflip...my dad, sisters, and I have a mild intolerance to latcose. My dad bought some diary aid (from Safeway). It's a lactase enzyme that "works naturally to ease the digestion of milk and milk by-products". It says to take one if you have a mild intolerance and two if you have severe intolerance. Maybe you should try that. It has no sugar so it's Atkin's safe I would assume. There may be other products out there.

                          Just a thought

Colorado sells it in Walmart and Albertsons. Walmart had 4 different varieties for about 2.60 for 1/2 gallon.
