Peanutbutter is SO low carb anyway, I honestly don't see why you bother. I laughed when i saw this product. Whereas regular PB has four or five net carbs, this has three. :no

Try a product called Sunbutter. It's a pb-like spread made out of sunflower seeds. Besides being fantastic, it also has only three net carbs, fully double the fiber of peanutbutter, and 70% of your daily vitamin e and copper requirements. There are also 'natural' and 'organic' varieties that don't use hydrogenated oil. It's not listed, but I really wouldn't be surprised if you got some omega-6 benefit from it, aswell.

Honestly, I don't work for the sunflower councel or anything... the stuff really rules, and I just like getting the word out.

Sounds interesting. I am also a fan of Tahini, which is made with sesame seeds, and is vaguely peanut-butter like.

Technosquid, where can you get sunbutter? I've never heard of it, but I'd love to try it.

Well I find mine at cub foods, which is supplied through super-valu destributors. It's possible it's a regional product, though.... it's produced a couple hundred miles from where I live.

If it's not at your local grocery, I'd look at a whole foods store.

            Another sunflower butter:
TrueFoodsMarket sells high quality, healthy, all-natural organic food & organic products that you can buy online and have delivered right to your doorstep

Honestly though, I'm in love with it. I can't go back to eating JIF.
Recently I got the idea in my mind to make my own big batch of sunbutter with a thunderstick food processor. Throw in some flax and pumpkin seed kernels, and you've got one healthy spread.

What about Real Peanut Butter, the one that you must refrigerate? That is what I buy, and I believe it only has 1 gram of net carbs, because it has the most fiber and I don't think it has any added sugar.

My 'ingredients: peanuts' peanutbutter says 2g fiber in 6g carbs. mass-market hydrogenated peanut butter has about 1 or 2 extra carbs.

Low carb eating is a fantastic springboard to real healthy eating. If you're cutting out starch, massive corn-syrup doses, and the hydrogenated fat in baked goods, I think you'd going to notice a huge health benefit. If you were looking to cut out hydrogenated fat completely, natural peanut butter is certainly the way to go, even if it does have like one extra net carb over the carb options pb.

Natural pb isnt everyone cup of tea. It a bit soupy even when well mixed. Tastes alright, though.

Not crazy, I used to have penutbutter and pickles on toasted wheat bread with a bit of honey. honestly, it was tasty, lol

that being said, natural peanut butter rocks!!! I have eaten it for years and if I ever taste jiffy, skip or even this diabetic brand 50-50, its YUCK!! ( i try it occaissionally to see what I'm missing, I keep thinking everyone knows something I dont) doesnt really taste like peanuts to me. I am a peanut butter fiend, and the one thing I lurve about this WOE is that entirely due to following the diet, I am eating almost all "whole foods"

yeah its a pain in the but that its not quick and easy food (used to stock stouffers in my fridge at all time) but it is great tasting and the immediate effect of this diet on your energy and general feeling of well being is evident. fresh whole foods are the way to go!

:joy I've lost 20LBs, gained control of my BG and cleaned up my life! :joy
