  • muffin & bread mixes

I haven't seen a review on the Atkins muffin & bread mixes, so I thought I'd mention how much I love the Banana Nut mix! With only 2 net carbs per muffin/slice, it's soooo worth it!

I also tried the Atkins Chocolate Chocolate Chip bread & muffin mix. When you mix it according to instructions the batter is so incredibly thick and nasty looking, so I added a little more oil & water than the directions. The raw batter does not taste good at all, but the muffins do! They're not near as sweet as a regular chocolate chip muffin would be, but they're still excellent! They're 6 net carbs per slice/muffin (depending on whether you make it as a bread or muffins). Between these muffins and the Atkins peanut butter cups, I will definitely not have a problem with chocolate cravings...

Has anyone tried the Atkins Brownie mix? I bought it, but haven't tried it yet since it's 9 grams of carbs per brownie.

I tried the Sourdough bread mix. I followed the instructions, and it did NOT work. It barely rose, then when I removed it, the whole thing collapsed.

The problem, I believe, is that I followed the instruction that called for 'room temperature' water. I didn't feel that was right, but I did it anyway. I should have trusted my instincts and used warm water.

    GRRRR. $5.50 down the drain.

        atkins brownies

I have bought them before and they are very good. They are alittle fudgy, not cake type brownies. It is sad that the carbs are so high for a 2 inch square. I have bought the choco choco chip muffin mix but haven't tried it yet. I am going to wait a few more weeks till I lose a few more pounds.

I am on day 7 of induction.

I tried the KETO chocolate chip muffins they were dry as well, I changed the recipe to 1/2 cup oil, and 1 cup of water - (like the Atkins bananna bread) They came out soooo much better! I have also had a taste of the bannana bread it is really good & easy to make.

I also found low carb bread 3 carbs each slice, I found loafs of atkins bread & atkins ice cream - I have not tried these yet because I don't know if they are okay for induction. Anyone know?

          Thanks All

I like the Atkins Lemon Poppy Seed muffins. I think they're 3 grams net carbs and they're not bad at all. I like to put butter on them and eat them when they're warm. I've also learned that since they're so darn expensive, I bake them, have one with my breakfast and then I freeze the rest of them. That way, I can have one anytime I want and I don't have to bake them every time PLUS, I don't have to worry about them being wasted. They're just as good heated in the microwave as they are fresh out of the oven

              Badkitty,

None of that is on induction. Just stick to the basics on the induction list. No breads, muffins, bars, etc..... These will come later in the later rungs of owl.

              Good luck

Interesting, I feel duped by the Atkins website - In the advertiesement for the picture, the product I bought were good for all four phases.

It couldn't have hurt that bad, I lost 6 lbs since last Monday. But I'll take all you experts advise and stick to the basics.

                Thanks for your replies!

The bars are different from the breads and muffins. The candy bars almost invariably use a sugar alcohol, which in many people seems to act much the same as sugar. The breads and muffins are mostly fiber, with small amounts of splenda (perhaps with the exception of the chocolate chip ones) and shouldn't be all that bad for induction. I'd still avoid anything remotely sweet in the first 2 weeks just to break the habit, but I don't think that's a hard and fast rule.

I appreciate your response. I thought it was okay - it is prescribed on e-diets as well.

I think staying away from the bars & ice cream (it has 2 grams of sugar alcohal) I still continued to loose weight.

the muffins are good for on the go! keto chocolate chip have only 1 carb each but they are small.

                    thanks again everyone!

I LOVE the Banana Nut Mix!

I picked up a package of the banana nut muffin mix today and I love it! It is so yummy!

I went to my sister's the other and she had some unfriendly Atkins banana bread there and that got me wanting some, so when I saw this mix, I thought I'd give it a try. I was definitely not disappointed with the mix.

I recommend this to anyone who loves banana bread.

I've tired the corn, chocolate chip ones and they are both great. I love the chocolate chip ones alot. The corn muffins/bread have 8 net carbs in them. I want to try the banna nut and orange cranberry ones next.

Blueberry muffins are good, and to make them even better, poke 3-4 frozen (unsweetened) blueberries into each one before baking.

I have tried 2 packets of bread mix and 1 packet of Muffin Mix. None of them work.
I followed every step on the instructions but it's not cooked inside. The crust is okay but the inside is not cooked. It looks like a mashed-tofu.
                            What should I do?
                            Did I miss anything?
(1 packet of bread mix is going for AUD$20 here...about USD$14...)
                            Someone please help me?

Per Atkins.com the sliced bread is ok for while on induction, but watch out, it's 3g per slice, they add up fast. And for the ice cream, sorry but that's not Atkins approved while on induction.
