I inherited a bag - yuck. Very dry and cardboard tasting
- I made the waffles with a waffle iron, and they looked beautiful, but were so dry and bleh that even my 6yo wouldn't touch a second bite. There are much better recipes for waffles and pancakes in the 'recipe' section of this board,

Atkins Pancake and Waffle Mix

Wow.... I really like the pancake mix (never tried to make waffles with it...) Certainly haven't seemed dry when I made them (although I did admittedly make half of what is suggests on the back, but forgot to halve the oil and water, turned out so well the first time I did it the same way the second). I was actually a little worried that these could potentially be too carb heavy, but are they OK then? Don't particularly taste like traditional pancakes, more like little flat egg souffles, but still tasty.

I love Atkins pancakes!!
awww I was shocked u guys hated the pancakes. I actually love them and eat them almost everyday..they're great the syrup is a little watery but very good to me. I didn't have the Buttermilk kind so I'm not sure which ones u guys are referring to. But the plain flavor is DELICIOUS!Start Date: 04-03-2007

I use to eat pancakes all the time before Atkins so my husband decided to buy me the pancake mix and syrup. He was showing his support for my new life style. They were horrible. The syrup included. Who decided to market those things and did they try them themselves

Hmmm.. Maybe they have a new recipe or something, because I just made Atkins pancakes this morning from the Quick Quisine bag and they were pretty good. I mean they're not Pillsbury, but for lowcarb I think they are a fine substitute. I don't know the syrup that everyone else used, but I used Maple Grove Farms Cozy Cottage Sugar Free syrup. Carbs (4g for 1/4 cup, 3g are Sorbitol).244/237/215

Wow its amazing the differences in opinions huh....
Anyway I have tried the pancakes once so far. I thought they were fantastic. The syrup I thought was to watery. I haven't touched them since though, I'm a bit worried there like the snack bars and cause a stall if you eat them to often.
Jazzy you said you eat them often, any stalls from them?

I tried the pancakes ONCE....
The syrup was great, but after two pancakes, I felt like I chewed up a cardboard box and swallowed a rock.
Our five year old loved 'em, though, so at least the rest of the batter didn't go to waste !
I'm going to stick to bacon and eggs for breakfast.

I made the pancakes this morning. I had to add a lot more water than the recipe called for to get them to pour. They tasted OK, but nothing special. Definately not worth spending my carbs on. Same for the Atkins syrup - not bad and not good. I did dip my bacon in the syrup, but it wasn't the same as I remember with regular syrup.

I finally broke down and spent $5 on a pancake mix pouch. They didn't even slightly resemble pancakes in taste, but they looked good. They just tasted like egg. Oh well, at least my daughters liked them. :grimblesingin' that same ol' song

I don't think I will be getting these anytime soon, 5 bucks for a small pouch was enough to make me run away. I heard they were nasty tasting, as far as the syrup goes... I use it on my sausage links, good stuff there.
