Ugh, I hadn't seen anyone who liked the pancake syrup... I think water has more flavor!

THe pancake mix is ok. But I like my little almond meal pancakes a lot better, and we use Smuckers SF syrup--for 1/4 it is 8 carbs -7 Sorbitol and it is delicious.

i used the quick quisine as well.....they were alright. they sorta had the consistency of mexican flan.
the syrup was too watery in my opinion as well.----audrie

        Pancakes

I make waffles from an online low carb recipe for sweet waffles using Carbsense zero carb baking mix and Da Vinci sugar free syrup.

yeah i wasnt too crazy about the waffles, but i remember how much i was craving them, and that day my boyfriend was making waffles himself...so it was better than nothing. and the no carb syrup was amazing. after i went off the diet that time, we still preffered the syrup to regular syrup!!!

            Hi,

I made waffles from the mix yesterday. Smells nasty, but the taste is somewhat better than the smell. I hated the thinness of the syrup, although the taste was okay. I ended up putting whipped cream with the hazelnut flavoring on my waffles and it was a great improvement, although the texture left something to be desired.

What struck me about the waffles is that the texture is very similar to cream puffs, so I'm going to try making some with the mix. Anybody else tried that? I also wonder if you could add something to the mix - like maybe a little canned pumpkin? - which would improve the texture. Maybe the 1/2 recipe I used for one four section waffle wasn't quite enough.

I agree with most of you... I would rather eat the packaging than the mix. I don't know WHAT that horrible acid taste and smell is. I DID find a better syrup, though. Log Cabin makes a zero calorie version. It has 12 carbs, but all 12 are in sugar alcohols, so the net is zero. It tastes good and is thicker than the Atkins brand (especially when refrigerated). Does anyone have a decent recipe for pancakes? Or should I just give up and stick to eggs and bacon?

The pancakes I eat now are made with almond meal (not for induction)

                1/4 cup almond meal
                1/8 cup flaxseed meal
                1/8 cup water
                1/8 cup cream
                1 egg
teaspoon of Splenda and a splash of vanilla (or use a T of SF DaVinci Vanilla syrup)

Mix all the ingredients and fry in butter. Be sure to let them set solidly before flipping or they will come apart. I try not to fry them on very high heat, too, so that the butter doesn't burn.

My daughter never liked pancakes before I came up with these--now they are part of our Sunday breakfast almost every week

I'd like to enthusiastically recommend Debbie/LoveSong's almond meal pancakes--they're really delicious, and your whole house smells great after you make them!

I don't mind the pancake mix, however, I agree, I use the syrup for the sausages. I actually have made the pancakes and let them cool down and put them in the fridge. When I want a snack, I've had a few with low carb strawberry syrup spread on top. I think it's alright!!

I dont mind the pancakes, although the syrup leaves something to be desired, but I mix them with almost double the amount of water it calls for, and make crepes, nice and thin, then load it down with whip cream, syrup, butter, whatever! roll em up and they are tasty. I am so sick of eggs, I need something else because I have noticed I am avoiding eating in the mornings because the only real option is eggs(that is quick) and I just cant stand them anymore.

I like the pancakes, but then again, I've been on this WOE for a long time so my tastes have probably changed. I like to mix fresh blueberries in the batter and I don't eat syrup --only lots of butter!

BTW, there are several sugar free syrups on the market now, just look in your grocery store where the regular syrups are, I'm guessing they are probably better than the Atkins one.

the trick for me on the pancakes is to doctor them, i add a bit of shake mix(dry) and some cinnamon/splenda to them and that helps a lot...
