    Pork Chop Ideas!

    Mmmmmmm...pork chops.....*Homer Simpson droooool*

    Here's some of our favourites

    - put them on a greased cookie sheet (I put a piece of foil down and spray it with cooking spray...easy cleanup!)..smear them with mayo, salt and pepper, and then lay a thin slice of onion on the top, and bake.

    - finely crushed pork rinds as camera mentioned! I add in salt and pepper, garlic powder and dried rosemary...so good! Cook'em on a rack.

    - finely crushed pork rinds and whatever spices you like, for that matter. I sometimes use cajun, or chili powder..thyme would probably be good...garlic powder for sure.

    - take a baking dish, melt a bit of butter in it and chop up some garlic. Put the garlic in the dish and lay mayo or ranch dressing coated chops on top of it and bake.

    - this one is my bf's invention - put some water in a big frying pan, add in chops, seasoning salt and pepper and simmer. Add in water as it evaporates out. Add in some mushrooms when the pork chops are pretty much done and simmer till they are tender and have absorbed the cooking liquids.

      Hey Moochie!

I'm trying the pork chop w/ crushed pork rinds recipe. I was sick of baked... but didn't want to fry... wanted some crunch.

I'll let you know how it turns out!

my fovorite way to have pork chops are kinda similar to your bf's

brown chops in olive oil - about 3 or 4 mins
lower to med heat and add a half cup of wine - sherry is my fav
once wine is almost evoprorated put heat on low and add in a cup of chicken stock, cover and simmer for 10 mins

once chops are done remove, and put heat on high and reduce juices for the yummiest sauce ever

How do yall cook pork chops successfully?? :confused It's beyond my grasp.

When I cook pork chops - 4 things are a given.
            1. They are tougher than boot leather.
            2. Dry, dry & dry!
            3. No taste what so ever.
            4. I swear I'll never try cooking them again.

Let me get this straight - a pan full of water - just regular water - toss in the chops, season a bit & wait until the water is gone. That's it?

I've been frying in oil & even tried baking - both no luck.
What am I doing wrong then?

Sounds like you are cooking them too long!

Do you have a George Foreman Grill? That's a super easy way to cook them if you do!

                  Re: Ideas for Pork Chops!

We do the water thing with them. Season them and brown them first then add water to the skillet and keep adding more as the water evaporates. Cook them until they fall apart when you fork them. They are definately not dry or tough.
Sometimes we crockpot them. Put in crockpot (thawed first and seasoned) on high before leaving for work. When we get home drain off the liquid then add a bag of sauerkraut turn to low and cook until ready to eat. (I get home around 3 so it is 2-3 hours till dinner) They also are very well done and not dry.

                    Re: Ideas for Pork Chops!

Ok...I know this SOUNDS funny...but its really very good.
Preheat oven to 425. In a skillet, brown pork chops in butter. After they are good and brown, place in a baking pan. In the same skillet, in the juices, pour in a cup of chicken broth, about 1/4 cup half and half or cream...a couple of tablespoons of dijon mustard, a couple teaspoons of regular mustard, and stir over high heat until boiling very hard. (Oh...while browning pork chops, I also season them with salt, pepper, and TONS of garlic ) Pour mixture over chops, cover baking dish with foil, bake for about 30-40 min. Use good thick chops. This is really good. My hubby doesnt like mustard, but he likes these pork chops.
