I doubt if the good Colonel ever heard of cumin and coriander in the hills of Kentucky way back when. Those that think it smells and tastes like KFC are from the UK. The recipe is probably quite different outside of the USA. Actually, the KFC that I have eaten in Canada is very different than in the US south.
I did try it and it was very good, but not like real KFC. Our KFC spices are more paprika, sage, onion and garlic powder, lots of black pepper, salt and some herbs like thyme and basil.

I tried this recipe tonight. Although I didn't really think it smelled like KFC when roasting or tasted like KFC when eating it...it was VERY good and I would make it again. Its a nice switch from my usually spiced chicken.
Now this is just my humble opinion...perhaps I have forgotten what KFC tastes like...
P.S. Cumin is unbelievably expensive...sheesh!
