  • What to do with squash?

We have picked some squash out of our garden, and I would love some ideas of different ways to cook it. I know I can slice it and put butter on it and fry it, but what else can you do with it?

Dip it in egg and then parmesean cheese and fry it.

Steam it and serve it with butter salt and pepper.

Sautee it with onions and butter.

I like my squash just steamed with butter but you can also marinate it and grill it. or make a squash casserole.

I like to slice it up and throw it in the pan with chicken when I'm baking/roasting it. But not until the last 15-20 minutes or so or it will be nothing but mush. It cooks in the pan drippings/butter/olive oil from the chicken and is scrumptuous. :yes

I like to steam it slightly, dice it up, and use it like you would pasta, under a spaghetti sauce, or stroganof, or something like that. I especially like zucchini this way, but others are good too.

I also use raw zucchini slices like chips, and eat them with dip. Or I use them in place of crackers and eat with tuna salad or things like that.

What a wonderful veggie you have! Yum!---if you come across spaghetti squash there's some really great recipes I know---but you probably already have those . I love grilling my squash...it gives it a really nice flavor!

                Maybe play squash?

Just kidding with you Squash is nice for squashing into soups and sauces, esp if you don't like eating them, then squash your squashes and make a nice sauce along with veggies such as celery or whatever you can find to thicken a sauce.

                  you can roast it.
you can shave it real thin and use as noodles or in a coleslaw type recipe. you can use it slices as the noodles in Lasagna

I put some in my omlette this morning with sausage and cheese. Then I covered it with Salsa. It was yummy!

I cook mine up with a little butter, onion, and either soy sauce or worcheshire sauce. It tastes yummy and very Asian.

Try baking spagehtti squash in the oven (halved and still in it's skin) and when it's done cooking, use a fork to to shred it out. You'll have a nice "pasta" to go with a tasty sauce!
