How many carbs in ground almond flour? Can't find it on fitday.

Same as in whole almonds, by weight rather than volume.

I feel really dumb. Of course, by weight will work out. I just remember having to count out each almond. Something like 24 make an ounse. Thanks.

What's the best way to get almond flour. If pre-ground, where can you buy it? If grind-at-home, what's the best grinder to use?

And as Book commented about grinding flax seeds fine for baking, should the almond flour be ground as fine as possible for baking?

Here in France it is easy to buy ground almond flour. It is more coarsely ground than regular flour so I do sometimes spin it around in my coffee grinder if I want a lighter texture. Course ground is great for pie crusts or cobble toppings on rhubarbe. Fine is better for cakes or breads.

Whole almonds might be cheaper in the States. I have no idea where you can buy it. When I was in Montana at Christmas Rosiers grocery had a large section of fancy flours which included flaxmeal. If not, check at the health food store or exotique (chinese) market. North Africans use alot of almond flour too.

I found almond flour at a natural health food store and Wild Oats here in FL. Check your local health food store, they should have it.
