Re: microwavable quiche????
I copied a recipe for a microwave "savory egg custard" from a book a few months ago. I'll try to remember to copy it and post it here for you. I don't remember much but it did require boiled water to be mixed with the egg, in order to get a smooth textured egg custard. But as I said, I'll try to remember to copy and post it for you.

Re: microwavable quiche????
Okay here it is. I've never tried this recipe, but it looks simple enough. There was a footnote about the recipe later in the book about cooking this in a microwave. But here is the recipe as it was written
From The Frugal Gourmet by Jeff Smith
Steamed Egg Custard with Ham and Onions
1 cup water, boiled and cooled
2 eggs, beaten
1 teaspoon sesame oil
3 green onions, chopped
4 oz ham
Mix together the ingredients. Place in a small bowl. Steam for 15 minutes. The water must be boiled to de-air it in order to prevent a souffle effect.
******
The microwave footnote was to prepare the recipe as above then to nuke it in a microwave.
As I said, I've never tried this before. But go ahead and experiment with it by using a half recipe at first. I'm sure you can toss in some grated cheese, change the cooked veggies, etc.
Be sure to report to us how the original and any recipes you developed from the original turned out!
