or talapia, or pollak....all my white fishes taste bland and boring. any yummy ideas?
i'm 25 years old, mom of two, ready to do this once and for all!
note: i am breast-feeding, though my baby is nearly weaned, eating most solid food now. i am doing this diet with the knowledge, approval, and at the suggestion of my doctor and having done my homework. i will not discuss the matter in any of my posts. please don't bring it up.

Have you tried Phoebe's Broiled Tilapia Parmesan (Linda's site)? I had it tonight, it was good

I moved this thread out of the Main Dishes Recipes forum (because it's not a recipe!) and into the Recipe Request Forum. You'll get more responses here.

For my money the best way to eat a bland white fish is by blackening it. I found this recipe online, it's not exactly what I do but you get the idea

          • 2 tablespoons coarse salt
          • 3 tablespoons paprika
          • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
          • 2 tablespoons onion powder
          • 1 tablespoon cayenne pepper
          • 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
          • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
          • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
          • 4 six-ounce tilapia fillets
          • 2 tablespoons canola or olive oil

In a shallow dish, mix the salt, paprika, garlic and onion powders, cayenne, black pepper, oregano, and thyme. Generously coat fish fillets with spice mixture. Heat a large cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat, and add canola oil. Add fish and cook 3 minutes on each side, or until flesh is white opaque (cooked through) and spices are toasted. Transfer to plates, and serve.
