You guys are all so lucky. I loved starbucks before i went on induction and missed it so much. I have two starbucks near me , but good heavens, are the folks in there a littleDIM!!!!!!!
I have repeatedly asked the girls behind the counter for heavy cream instead of milk, but they look at me like im not speaking english(i think thats there problem actually) and make it wrong everytime. I am getting so so annoyed. Ready to go behind the counter to do it myself.
Not giving up yet, maybe i should print out some of your posts so that they have some written guideklines.Savannah

Okay, here's my problem with the heavy cream latte. A shot of Espresso is one oz. So doesn't that mean that the rest of the cup is filled with heavy cream? (maybe a little less b/c is frothed). so I'm guessing that you are getting 8-9 oz. of cream minimum - which is about 3 times the amount we are supposed to have per day. Not to mention the fact that 9 oz of cream has about 900 calories, which is more than 1/2 the calories i can eat in a day - and that's if i get the small size! Are my calculations wrong here?28yo 5ft 4in

I started out with the latte breve, but figured out it was way too many carbs, so now I also do the iced cafe americano with 2 tbsp heavy cream and a shot of the SF vanilla syrup--really good! My other local coffee shop has the SF hazelnut syrup, as well--sure wish Starbucks would get other flavors--oh well, it's only an occasional treat, anyway...

I didnt know about the heavy cream option butI will definately try in the future. My fav drink there is the black iced tea, unsweetened, undiluted (they add water after its brewed, because its pretty strong. I add half and half, splenda and lots of cinnamon, yummy, and the cinnamon is great for blood sugar control

I used to drink so much Starbucks, I should probably own a chain (or at least stock)! hehe I heard about the hw cream latte sf vanilla here on this board. I tried it and it is really good. Unfortunatley, it really fills me up and I can't eat anything after it. It also doesn't give me that caffeine buzz that I want. I know I know I shouldn't be having any caffeine but I did go back to it and I'm not gaining or stalling. In fact, I've slid past goal and have to make a concious effort to eat more carbs so I don't keep sliding.
Anyway, it's a great treat but regardless of the carb count let's just keep it as a 'treat'.
My 2 cents,
Dave
P.S. I tried the hazelnut syrup and it's much to sweet. I'm heading back to Vanilla.
