  • My version of Scalloped Potatoes using a Turnip

I just layer very thinly sliced turnips, parmesan cheese, onion, a little piece of butter and pepper on each layer in the bowl. Then at the end I put cream over it. Then cover it with foil and baked it til it is tender. It will turn brown on top without removing the foil.

I didn't do measurements. But I would say I prob used close to:

1 large turnip sliced very thin (I used my mandolin)
4 TBSP parmesan cheese (total amount used in all layers)
1 TBSP very finely chopped onion
    2 TBSP butter
    Black Pepper
    3 TBSP cream

    Pre Cooking:

After cooking on my dinner plate! This was half of what was in the bowl above.

            man, those look soooo good!

The first picture actually reminded me of scalloped potatoes that you keep as a soup and add hotdogs to.

Just tried this recipe, and it was soooo yummy. The only thing I added was some cheddar on top.

                            1) Turnips
                            2) Parmisan Cheese
                            etc...

Thanks that sounds like a yummy new idea for a great new dish!

does it have a potato taste? I must ask because I don't think I've ever had a turnip. lol I know thats sad.
