  • Sweet egg - 1.6g carbs

Well the other day I was putting new eggs in the fridge when one broke in the box. I though darn, wasted egg. Then it hit me: my mum used to make me a sweet egg, which is delicious and I ate millions of them when I was young. So here it is, you can't belive how simple and low-carb, but at the same time must say some people may not like the taste of a raw egg, no metter how sweet he he.

Ingridients: 1 medium egg, 1 tablet splenda

1.Take a raw egg, break and place in a deep plate.
2.Take fork and beat the egg for a few minutes until the mass is smoove. (The longer you beat it the better)
3.About half time through beating, take a tablet of Splenda, crash it between two spoons, and mix it with the egg.
    4.Keep beating for another minute

That's it! ready to munch! Eat with small spoon for longer lasting effect

    Carbs: 1.6g (Egg : 0.6g, Splenda 1g)

I have no idea who to give credit to for this desert, so hopefully it is my mum

These days it is considered to be unsafe to eat raw eggs because they all contain salmonella. I'd think twice about this one. Well, actually I wouldn't think once about it as the thought of a raw egg is.... bleah :P

Although I agree about the potential of a raw egg carying some sort of germ, every food you eat might, especially the raw meat. Raw egg (white)is also often used to make the topping for the cakes as well, bitten well adn sugared, so pretty much like this.

I eat one of these every day for desert, and to knock in the wood I'm OK.

Finally don;t forget that raw egg is actually reccomended to singers, especially opera singers as it helps keep the throat and surrounding in tip top condition.I don;t know the detials of why and how it works, but web is a big library so I'm sure someone can find it.

statisticly speaking. Approx 1 in every 16,000 eggs carries a bacteria. So figure the odds!!

thanks for the stat! I agree, if you know your eggs are coming from a reputable source, have been properly handled, and refrigerated, eating them raw should be okay. Its just knowing if you want to take the risk!

In France you can by the extra bio farmer's eggs for eating raw. Often they are cracked open over a grilled hamberger steak or carbonara (fresh cream, bacon and noodles).

This one time (true story) some guy drank a can of soda and died from getting severely ill, turns out a rat pee'd on the can and he didn't rinse it off before he cracked it open and drank it. That's what odds are. (/me is devil's advocate)

You can purchase pasturized eggs now. The cost more but no raw egg worries.

There has been no recorded instances of anyone getting bacterial poisoning from an egg in the US from home used eggs. All cases of salmonella have been from restaurants, where it is quite common for eggs to sit out at room temperature on huge carts for a large period of the day, whereas at home they usually are refridgerated up until the moment of use.

I've been making an "egg nog" protein shake:
                        1 raw egg
1 scoop protein mix (mine comes with aspartame but I use it anyways)
                        nutmeg
                        1 tsp rum extract
                        1 tbls atkins vanilla syrup
                        2 tbls cream
1-2 cups unsweetened soy milk ( fill to the 2 cup mark on blender)

                        mix in blender...instant egg nog!!
Note I just pour stuff in...those measurements are guesstimates...

I am pretty lucky- I know which chicken my egg comes out of My husbands family lives on a small hobby farm, and have all of their own chickens... So I have perfectly FREE fresh eggs Perfect for this diet I eat a LOT of eggs I don't see why people get so odd about eating raw eggs though... People are always eating cake batter, and raw cookie dough... raw eggs there too... whats the difference I bet all of you that say yuck to a raw egg was eating cookie dough before Atkins!

I make this but pop the mixture into a buttered bowl and nuke it. Mini souffle. Could also give it a quick scramble fora good brekkie.

Dude, they make Splenda in tablets across the pond?? I want some of those!

I used to drink raw eggs in high school. Rapidly growing kid and all that. I dunno that I could get a raw egg down now without a little coaxing, but I do know that I like my steaks barely cooked: warm, red center and everything. Yeah, yeah, I'm living life on the edge. :laughing

I might try this, we'll see. As for the buttered bowl part - kinda starting to sound like the makings of the famous "faux danish" which is essentially butter, cream cheese, beaten egg, splenda, all nuked in a cup. And that's also really good - but gave me a headache (I guess I'm a touch lactose intolerant? I tend to get 'dairy headaches' when I have too much, which sometimes is not much at all.)
