Yeah it rocks, thanks for reminding me of what I can do with my two almost stale bags of pork rinds lol. PMS is upon me and I am CHEAT FREE 19 days! I don't plan on letting TOM drag me down to sugar level!

Re: "Cinnamon Toast Crunch" - odd but good!
Sofresh,
I LOVE YOU!
This is one of the best recipes I have ever tried. My gosh, the pork rind is the perfect food. Thanks for sharing this one because it really hit the spot tonight!

Originally posted by sofreshI came up with this while really craving cereal one evening, and playing around with different ideas. This is one of those recipes that may sound too wierd to even give it a shot, but if you love cereal try it!
3 tbsp heavy whipping cream
2 tbsp water (optional but helps)
1 packet Splenda
1 handful pork rinds
cinnamon powder
Pour the whipping cream, water, and Splenda into the bottom of your average cereal bowl. Add three or more dashes of cinnamon, and stir. The cinnamon will remain kind of clumpy, but that's okay. Add the pork rinds a few at a time - i like to use the smaller bits that collect at the bottom of the bag for a more cereal-like effect, but you could always crush larger ones - and stir them as best you can until all rinds are covered with the cream mixture (it's important that the rinds get covered, the soggier the better). You'll be able to hear them snap, crackle, and pop at this point.
dig in with a spoon and enjoy!
It's induction legal!
1 serving = 3 carbs
Carbs will differ depending on what kind of cream and how much Splenda you use.

I found that you have to swirl them around a lot in the cream to make sure and not have the pork rind taste. Also, I use Publix brand (local southern grocery that rocks) to make them and their brand from the deli has a very mild flavor to begin with and didn't seem to give that pork rind taste. Also doing as mentioned previously and using smaller pieces worked better too....Male - 34 y/o

Here's a similar but non-cereal recipe.
In a ziploc bag, melt a tablespoon or so of butter. Sprinkle a packet of splenda in it, along with some cinnamon. Massage the bag a bit to get everything mixed together, then thrown in a handful of pork rinds. Seal the bag and shake the heck out of it. Ta-Daaa.....cinnamon-sugar crisps. You may need to adjust your ingredient amounts a bit to get the degree of sweet or cinnamon that you prefer.

No way would I eat this for a meal. It was just a snack when I felt like having something crunchy. I just make a really little bowl of it to get me through my TOM. It helps with needing that crunch, and sweet craving.Michele SW250/CW 226/GW150 F, 38, 5'6"
