Beef Jerky is fine IF you make it yourself so you know their is no sugar in it or if you can find a brand that makes it w/o sugar!
Pau, Beef Jerky is seasoned/marinated strips of beef that have been dehydrated, very chewy! Cowboys used to do this to beef to preserve it so they could carry it on long trips w/o having to worry about it spoiling!

there are hundreds of different recipes on the internet if you're interested in making your own, be sure that you adapt them if nessicary so that they contain only Atkins friendly ingredients but here's a sampling on one site
I don't really go by a 'recipe" I just throw a bunch of stuff in with the meat depending on my mood!
Usually including, soy sauce, worchestshire sauce, minced garlic, crushed red pepper, fresh ground black pepper and sometimes a small splash of teriyaki sauce (I don't like it sweet! also be sure the teriyaki is sugar free if you do use it!) I marinate my meat for 48 hours in the refridgerator, I have a special tupperware marinating containing which I flip whenever I think about it over the 2 days.
I have a dehydrator and it takes about 8 hours for it to be done once I put it on so I usually put it on over night and its done in the morning.
If you need more or an idea of amounts ( I don't measure anything, sorry) then maybe check out this website, be sure to check the ingredients closely though and leave out or substitue anything that is not Atkins friendly!
Also, if you do a google search for "beef jerky recipes" you will see there are tons of sites with lots of different variations, seems everyone has their own favorite!
