The ACV doesn't so much as *kill* off the yeast as it does to balance the acid-alkaline pH levels in the body and helps to oxygenate the blood. It has been helpful as an aid for digestion, helping to break down minerals, protein and fats. It also inhibits the growth of unfriendly bacteria in the digestive tract. It is the best thing to take for indigestion........

Cider vinegar has detoxifying properties, strengthens the immune system and may improve viral, bacterial and fungal infections. It is used as an antibacterial and anti-inflammatory medicine and has a natural antibiotic effect.

Pammie, do they have health food stores around?? Can you find it in pill form??

    • OK, I too just finished the cleanse and only lost 2 pounds. I did it by the book. I felt some mild side effects (loss of energy, gurgly stomach, slight headache), but nothing else.

I do confess I did it to see if I could get my weightloss to move forward. Guess it's good that I reset my Ph, but I can't say this is a stall buster.

      • I'll have to disagree with you on not being a stall buster......out of 9 of my friends and family all 9 have lost weight after being stalled, i myself, included. Also Dr. Atkins professes that it IS a stall buster. Maybe watch your portions? I don't know...I don't have the answers but however I DO see the results on SO many to NOT speak up here and defend the yeast cleanse as a "stall buster". Just my 2 cents for "what it's worth".

        • I'm definately watching my portions. have done this thing by the book. it just isn't a stall buster for me. i did notice my brain fog has cleared up, and i have more energy now, but very minor weight loss. guess it works differently for everyone. i've been a very slow loser, so i guess i will continue to be. not that i'm upset over a 2 lb weight loss. I'll take it.

          • Mindykins, in this case, it was a stall-buster for you. You lost 2 pounds during that time and, at the time, had 25lbs to lose. Think about the "10% loss" for this. You lost about 10% so that is wonderful! Just remember, the less you have to lose, the slower the weight-loss.

Doing KISS & CAD are definite stall-busters. But don't forget to take your current weight & weight to lose into consideration.

            • Actually, I had 14 pounds to lose, but I think you're right, since I'm nearer to my goal, I guess the loss is slow, but for the 1.3 years I've been on this diet I have lost very slowly. Slow & steady like the tortise and the hare, huh? Thanks for your support guys!

Even better! :yes I can relate to the slow loss. I keep going through spurts, which is normal, but I just wish the slow loss wouldn't drag out so long! You've done a wonderful job sticking to this WOE and the weight you've lost is definitely proof of that! :hug

                • HOW MANY TIMES A DAY

I SEE THAT SOME POSTS STATES THAT YOU SHOULD TAKE YOUR PROBIOTICS TWICE A DAY...MY BOTTLE SAYS TO START OUT AT ONE THEN INCREASE TO TWO..WHAT SHOULD I DO? IF IT'S JUST ONE, DO I TAKE IT AT NIGHT AND IF IT'S TWO DO I TAKE THEM TOGETHER OR ONE IN THE MORNING AND ONE AT NIGHT?

I ALSO PICKED UP SOME OREGANO OIL LIQUID CAPS (70% STANDARDIZED CARVACROL)..ARE THESE CORRECT AND HOW MANY TIMES A DAY DO I TAKE THESE?

                  Comment

                  • I would follow the instructions for the bottle. Try taking one in the morning with breakfast for about 3days to a week then increase to 2. When you increase to 2, try taking one in the morning and one in the evening. Make sure that they are at least 6-8 hrs apart when taking them.

As for the oregano oil, I never used it. I am sure that someone who has experience with it could help you with that question.

Personally, I only took the probiotic twice a day and ate alot of fresh garlic. To kill the smell of the garlic, I took a few parsley seed oil pills and it works.

I thought my cramps were from a kidney infection but maybe not. Obviously not from anything else as I have had a hysterectomy.I will try the spit test tomorrow. thanks

Okay.. I was wondering, how long did it take each of you guys to get rid of your candida? I am almost at my wits end. I won't give up....it's just so frustrating.

                          Hi Everyone,

I'm a second-timer and suspect Candida may be an issue for me. I am a little hesitant to talk to my doctor about it. How did you guys find out? What can be done for it?

                            • Re: Cleared up yeast and bloating and losing weight!!!!

First off - I'm not a fan of cow's milk to drink, my son is lactose intolerant so he's been on soy milk for a while now. Recently I bought raw almonds and I've been making him raw almond milk from soaked almonds so I can transition him off the soy milk as well. My son & daughter seem to like the almond milk.
Second - I'm diabetic, way overweight. Went off Atkins 4 months ago to do intuitive eating. I was using a probiotic pill for a couple of months until I decided it was too expensive and I'd rather have yogurt, etc etc. Well, the last couple of weeks have been ****. Yeast infection, UTI, my kidneys hurt, and I've got a huge, red, painful armpit. I've been washing it with anti-bacterial soap, using my deoderant crystal, tea tree oil, baby powder, eating yogurt, and started back w/ the probiotic yesterday. It's getting better, but I've been wondering why so much is happening w/ yeast lately. Today I've been doing research into candida diets, etc. Going to IE from Atkins, I went from a relatively anti-candida diet (I still drank coffee and ate tons of mushrooms, cheese, etc) to eating more sugar, fruit, breads, alcohol, etc. The yeast probably had a field day. The probiotics I took for those two months was probably the only thing keeping me from these yeast symptoms before now.
So, I'm considering going back to Atkins - for many reasons - and doing a more anti-candida version than I did before. I'm going to try to get some oregano oil, apple cider vinegar, and more probiotics.

I'm wondering if the almond milk I've been making for my kids would be ok for me to drink? I make it with raw honey and vanilla extract.

I'm also wondering if transitioning slowly to this much stricter intake would be a better idea than changing everything instantly. I worry about a backlash from caffiene withdrawal, sugar withdrawal, and yeast die-off all happening at once.

Should I take a few days each for each thing I need to eliminate while I'm adding in the beneficial foods and substances that will help w/ the yeast?
