About taking Apple Cider Vinegar when you have candida? The answer is "yes" :yes
Here is a link to a wonderful website about the healing qualities of Apple Cider Vinegar.

Found this response on Cure Zone:

If you have candida issues, the ACV will be lethal on the candida because the mother in it is friendly flora which is needed in this case due to insufficient friendly flora which got you in this situation in the first place. It is goodfor enema solutions too. It is anti microbial, anti bacterial and is very helpful for candida sufferers. Candida sufferers also have in common low stomach acid and ACV will help with this also. ANy aggravation will be die off from the ACV killing the bad guys off!

Someone asked me about taking the vinegar and can't find her post; hope you see this response!

Just posted info on the ACV, take 1-2 teaspoons three times a day in water. I just put a little water in a glass and take it down in one swallow.

        Found this while looking around:

        Candida Notes
        ---Do I Have Candida?

        Common symptoms include: brain fog; irritability; recurring vaginitis, jock itch, thrush;
patches of ringworm or white rash; moldy toes; acne; constipation/indigestion

If you've taken broad-spectrum antibiotics, then yes.

Take the Saliva Test. Instructions on Internet. Keep taking the test regularly to determine whether you are in first stage (candida overgrowth) or second stage (candida balanced but aftermath still needs to be dealt with).

        ---Common Causes
Standard American diet coupled with improper eating/lifestyle habits and stress that lead to poor digestion. Undigested foods due to lack of bile from the liver, enzymes from pancreas and gastric juices in the stomach (antacids) go to the colon and rot. Candida eat this.

Taking antibiotics kills acidophilus, which is a microbe that keeps candida in check much the same way that wolves will keep deer in check. Too few wolves and deer overpopulate.

        -----Complications
Systemic candidiasis isn't just about candida. It's also about what candida does to you over time. When candida grows into the rhizome stage, it sprouts into a long, stalk-like fungus that punches holes in your entire digestive tract, allowing toxins to enter the bloodstream. The liver and immune system must deal with these toxins, so they get stressed, overloaded and clogged, as does the lymphatic system due to partially digested fats. Digestion slows down even further and you end up with a vicious cycle that creates even more candida and liver congestion and leaky gut.

Candida eats sugars and excretes alcohol. Your liver is stressed from dealing with all the alcohol.

Many people call brain fog "die off" and often die-off is involved, but really, it is all those toxins passing the blood brain barrier. Whenever you feel fatigues, brain fogged, cleanse the colon.

        ----------The Cure

        ---Objectives:
-Kill the yeast (only 10% of cure)
ThreeLac has helped a few people, but not so many as they claim. Apparently, if you take it immediately following antibiotics it's a great help. If you've had candida for awhile, it is much less effective.
Kyoilc (garlic) and Grapefruit Seed Oil are the best for steady, effective, not too many side-effects, anti-yeast supplements. Pau D'arco tea is often recommended but you have to drink 8 cups daily for it to have any effect. Garden of Life sells an anti-fungal mix that has good things in it.
Anti-fungals should only be taken for 2 - 4 weeks. After that, yeast has adapted and resistant. Switch to probiotics. Be sure to practice good colon cleansing while you take anti-fungals to reduce toxic symptoms.

-Starve the yeast (avoid all sugars and dairy for 3 months)
Avoid fruit too. An apple a day is okay, as are lemon and lime.
        Caveman diet.
If you lose too much weight, start eating Kichadi. Also known as Kicharee, it's a basmati rice and mung bean stew that is great for people with weak digestion. Ask for recipe.
Avoid raw foods. They are healing for most people, but for weak digestions lightly steamed is better. Juices are fine.

        -Replace friendly microbes
Probiotics are the good microbes that get killed by poor diet, dead foods, antibiotics and aren't replaced by dead dairy. You can take them orally but beware, many won't survive stomach acids. Primal Defense is designed to survive and doesn't need to be refrigerated.
Refrigerated cultures are great for rectal implants.

-Alkalinize the body with an alkaline diet
Vegetarian diets are alkaline. Eat very high quality beef once a week to keep up your strength, otherwise, stick to beans, lentils, nuts.
        Caveman diet! Excellent!

-Thoroughly cleanse the bowels, lymph, liver
Buy an enema bucket setup. Cheapest one I've found is from Health & Yoga in India. Follow the Bowel Management for Beginners notes.
At least weekly, take a detox bath.
        Dry brush daily.
        See liver notes.
        Increase power of digestion
        See notes.

        -Avoid allergens for 6-9 months
Anything you are used to eating is probably an allergen to you now. Common allergens are wheat, corn, white potatoes
Beware of perfumes, pest sprays, household cleansers. Use natural solutions whenever possible. Avoid new cars!

        -Oxygenate the body! Increase circulation!
        Exercise!
Walk at least 20 minutes 3x week.
        Self-massage
        Massage
        Castor oil packs/moist heat
        Acupressure/puncture
        Cayenne Pepper

        -Good Sleep!
Go to sleep by 11:00 pm. Each hour before midnight slept is twice as healing as every hour after.

        ----Essential supplements:
        Pancreatic enzymes
Super Greens (chlorella, spirulina, barley, veggies, etc.)
        Essential Fatty Acids
Can take fish oil, flax seed oil, Evening Primrose Oil, Borage
        Green Tea & Spicy Teas
        Planetary Formula's Bupleurum Liver Cleanse
        Probiotics
        A good multi-vit - Solaray's Spectro - with GTF Chromium
Cleansing drink: warm water, juice of ½ lemon, 1 tbl apple cider vinegar; dash of cayenne or cayenne tincture; a bit of maple syrup just to make it taste better - as long as you use just one tsp don't worry about feeding the yeasties. Drink every night, try to drink mid-morning or before main meal.
Consider getting a juicer. The yeasties have been starving your body of vital nutrients for a long time. Vitamins are just not as good as real food.
        Fiber/intestinal cleanser/bentonite clay
        Support Adrenals
        NO caffeine
Take Gotu Kola (an herb) as a Tea so it helps repair tissues too

Hate to be a stickler once more...but I just wanna see if anyone can clarify some info for me. I want to do a yeast/candida cleanse and a general colon cleanse. I have some questions:

Can I do these concurrently or should I do them separately, if separately should I do one before the other?

Also, can anyone recommend some key ingredients or herbs that they would definitely want in their product for both the candida cleanse and the colon cleanse (or if you can recommend a specific brand or product name which I could pick up at vitamin shoppe)

also, are there any modifications i need to make to my eating habits to facilitate the cleanses?

            thanks in advance :yes

I would say a clean colon first would be the way to go, or both together wouldn't harm anything. the yeast cleanse is the acidolphilus, plant enzymes (digestive enzymes), oil of oregano capsules and Braggs unfiltered, raw, organic apple cider vinegar three times a day, dandelion tea; lots of fresh garlic or garlic tablets. Cut out ALL dairy, and fermented foods such as soy sauce, mushrooms, there is a list posted above. Drink LOTS of water to flush the yeast out and colon. I mentioned that Dr Schultz's colon products ate the BEST on the market. You will definately feel and look better, more energetic and clearer thinking, plus break any stall you may have been on. :yes Any more questions feel free to ask.

Pammie, I take soya yoghurt for candida & it seems to help. Also I take Allimax (a garlic suppliment). This with the Kiss diet worked wonders for me. I lost 7lbs in one week & wasn't constipated any more. I also took oil of oregano but it's so expensive in the UK can't really afford to buy any more. I've also been able to eat cream cheese- as suggested in DANDR.

I think as candida seems so prevalent we should have a section on the board for Candida/yeast problems like we do for Diabetes. What do others think?

I think candida is very prevalent and we might benefit a great deal having a forum especially just for this. I put in a positive vote :icondance

I've got the *#%^ stuff. I suspected I did considering how many rounds of antibiotics I've been on in the past year, and even before that. It didn't even take 2 minutes for the first legs to show. And at 15 minutes, well, it just made me ill. So today I'm off to get some books and suppliments.

And to make matters worse, I'm on antibiotics right now for a sinus infection.

I swear I can't win for loosing, or not loosing, not sure yet since I don't weigh for a few more days.

Oil of oregano as well as helping with the yeast problem also helps clear up sinus problems. Give it a go. I used the drops.

I just recently got rid of my candida overgrowth by using Acidophilus, eating plenty of garlic (you can take the odorless supps. also) and by starving it out by eliminating certain foods (including condiments).

Becky Sue's links were of great help and I also found some other websites myself.

I find it easy to eat this way and as long as I am benefiting from it, I will stick to it.

Pammie..... Oh, I definitely feel ya on the hot sauce craving! I make my own "hot sauce". It doesn't taste exactly like it, but it's still yummy! Here it is for ya!

                          olive oil
fresh ground cayenne and/or red chili peppers
                          salt
                          lemon juice

mix all ingredients together, adjusting to fit your taste. (I like mine tangy, so I use at least a wedge of lemon juice)

Well, I've gotten a good probotic, oil of oregano in a liquid form (its beyond nasty) and a good garlic with immune building herbs added. Not to mention an enzymic system cleanse.

I can't start the diet until after Thanksgiving, I won't do that to Mom with all her planning and willingness to work with me on Atkins.

I'm supposed to have garlic and dandelion tea, too?

                              Noooo!

See, I am sitting here sipping down the crummiest-tasting oil of oregano water I've had in my entire life, took two of the apple cider vinegar tabs and have taken one of my two acidophilus for the day.

Now I'm supposed to have dandelion tea and garlic, too?

I feel like a human pizza!

Tell me I can get by without the garlic and the tea. The oregano is the worst!

oregano is hideous!!! I think the caps wouldn't be bad, but I'm trying to shock the hades out of the yeast (and it's working) with the oregano essense in water, and its just nasty. I keep telling myself having yeast is worse than the cure, and I'm trying to belive it
