Pammie, sweeteners are usually made of maltodextrin and dextrose to make it into a solid form.F/35/5' 7"

Also, remember that the point of doing the candida diet is to eliminate the yeast. If you are still using processed foods (whey protein), sweeteners other than stevia or flavored extracts which contain alcohol, you are still feeding the yeast and are probably going to have to continue the candida diet for longer than the minimum of 6wks.
If your will helped you survive induction for 2 or more weeks, your will should get you through the recommended minimum of 6wks on the candida diet....

sorry, I just want to ask. I use pure liquid splenda, I cannot get stevia here. so there is no bulking ingredient.Originally posted by ChynnaPammie, sweeteners are usually made of maltodextrin and dextrose to make it into a solid form.
actually I use very very little sweetener anyway, especially now since I am not having coffee. In fact in the 2 weeks I have been doing the yeast cleanse I have had sweetener maybe once and that was liquid splenda.
I will cut that out...but some how I do not think that is what is stalling me so badly. This is really begining to drive me crazy.
as i am following the diet, I am taking the supplements and nothing!...maybe it is struly just a horrible stall?start: 8/18/03

why would whey protein feed the yeast? it is the lactose in the dairy and the mold in the aged cheeses that you need tot avoid dairy for not protein.by the book atkinseer

Whey protein is usually derived from milk. Therefore, it still contains dairy and it is also a processed food. Therefore, you will still be feeding the yeast in your system by adding this into your diet.Originally posted by 2big4mysizeChynna

Eating whole foods during the CD is still the best thing to do if you want to see results.F/35/5' 7"

Are you eating leftovers? And/Or using dried seasonings? Leftovers are still a breeding ground for molds, even if refridgerated and therefore should be avoided. Dried seasonings also breed molds and should be avoided also. Even table salt contains dextrose to stabilize the iodide, so kosher or sea salt are the best to use during CD.Originally posted by pammiesorry, I just want to ask. What kind of supplements are you using to help fight the yeasties? Is there anything else that you are consuming that you might have doubts about? How many carbs are you getting in a day? Sometimes it helps to stick to no more than 15g per day to see results. I usually had about 10 to 13 a day and had better results sticking to that amount on a daily basis.F/35/5' 7"

I've seen artificial sweetners listed on most candida websites as no-no's.
I'm not sure what to believe about the whey protein.... but I guess that's one more thing I should try to eliminate. I'm following a candida diet that includes whole grains.... as well as some low lactose cheeses. You can read what I've been eating in my candida cleansing journal in this forum.
Maybe I should try cutting out grains completely for 1-2 weeks.

Your best bet would be to cut out the low lactose cheeses and keeping the whole grains. The fiber in them is crucial when doing the CD and the low lactose cheeses are still feeding your yeast.F/35/5' 7"

Just remember, all cheese contains lactose and at even small amounts on occassion, can cause your candida to thrive.
If the grains you are consuming are altered (preservatives added, added ingredients, etc.) then you should reconsider them. Read the labels and research the ingredients that you are unfamiliar with. More than likely, if it's packaged, it's got chemicals in it that can throw your CD off track.F/35/5' 7"

But if the sf syrup is made with liquid Splenda and it has no bulking agents, then technically I should be able to use it, right? I'm SO confused... Missy says yes, but Chynna says no... :help

nope to dried seasoning. salt/pepper/fresh garlic and fresh chiles mostly. And I have always used sea salt.Originally posted by ChynnaAre you eating leftovers? And/Or using dried seasonings? Leftovers, well I don't really have much choice. I must take my lunch to work. I do make it the night before and eat it the next day at work. That is just not going to change unless I stop eating lunch and go hungry all day.
As for carbs, since I am not getting any dairy my carbs are cut really low, I would say no way I go over 15 a day.
