  • so maybe it isn't yeast?

If not than what?? Can someone help me out please!

I have ben in a 6 month stall, not a pound, not an inch lost for 6 months. The reasons I thought it was yeast.
    1. spit test is positive
    2. I have bad sinus headaches
    3. I alternate weekly between severe constipation and diahrea
    4. this all started in July, which is our very wet very molding rainy season
    5. I have tried EVERYTHING to break this stall. such as lowering calories, raising calories, raising exercise, lowering exercise, raising fats, lowering fats, I swtiched to very low fat high carb for 2 weeks, I went back to a very strict induction, I tried moving to owl. I tried more carbs, I tried less carbs, I tried cutting out all sweeteners. I tried everything! and nothing for 6 months.

so now I have been on the yeast diet for 2 weeks. I take my supplements, I an very strict with what I eat (yeast free) and along with that I am trying to watch calories, and still nothing in this 2 weeks, except for the fact that my constipation has gotten worse!

so, any advice? what could it be?? I was really confident about this yeast thing working but it just is not. So now I am getting fed up, like it is not worth it to continue on!

Maybe I should be satisfied with 197lbs and being a size 14? maybe that is what my body wants to be??

My heart goes out to you Pammie. I'm sorry I've no advice to offer, just sympathy. I really admire what you've achieved & think you look wonderful. You are one of the reasons I've stuck to this WOE. Yours was one of the first posts I saw when I joined this board last January & I was so inspired by your good advice & wonderful before & after pics. I'm just sorry that after all the help you've given everybody else we seem unable to do the same for you.

Pammie, you've done an excellent job losing weight! That is a huge accomplishment and you should be proud of it. :hug

If nothing is working for you, at the moment, maybe your body is trying to catch up with that remarkable weight loss of your's. Just stick to it, wait it out and your patience will be rewarded. I know it's a bit disappointing, but as long as you stick to it, results will follow.

Hi Pammie...I can totally relate. I have the hardest time losing weight. My R.D. stated the following about exercise quoted from the AHA: In order for exercise to assist in weight loss, you must do at least 45 minutes of aerobic exercise 4xper week. Now Pammie, I am sure there are people out there that exercise less and see results, because it doesn't make sense to me that one can go from completely sedentary to even some exercise and not see results. But maybe this is the reason? I have a feeling that is for me because I have cut down on my exercise because of time restraints (only 30 minutes 3xper week) and no more weight loss.

        Just an idea :confused

I have been doing some research and I came across something that mat help. I hope I am not being rude but how old are you. Is there any chance you are going through massive hormone changes. I know that when I am hormonal I do not lose weight and I have not lost since quitting breast feeding my baby 4 weeks ago. It's just a thought. If it is the change I will try to do more research to see what may help you. I Pray that you start losingthis is the only thing I can think of. Also have you had your thyroid checked that is another thing. You are so didicated I would have quit by now with no weight loss. If you think it may be hormones I believe there is a simple blood test you can get to check and see if you are out of wack. LOL

Pammie, the only thing not on your list is relaxation. Stress, even the stress of losing weight can play havic. Tai Chi would be a great start. Positive thinking might also help. I was in the same fix and decided 1) not to worry about it and 2)concentate on being healthy instead, and I have dropped 3 or 4 pounds

I take Tai Chi at the local community center with a lot of older Japanese men and women, one who speaks English. Anyway, I am sure I am the instructors most challenging student cause she is alway repositioning me and shaking her head. There are 24 stances and I have mastered the first. LOL and some are just beyond me.

              hmm, let me see
              exercise I exercise 50min -1hr a day aerobic and 20 mins weight training 3X a week

I am 35, so I doubt it is the change yet (but I can sure hope that is it :joy I don't mind not losing weight if it means the end of my period!)

Lynne, Taichi sounds like fun. I would love to try somehting like that and might look into it, but in all honestly I am not so stressed and relax by going to the gym.

have you seen the doc for some basic blood work? You could be deficient in something or even hypothyroid.

Your yeast may take longer to fix if you have it bad. I've been reading about folk who took months to clear out. there ois also a stool and blood test for them too.

You didn't say you had but have you tried higher fat levels?

I have another question now are you on BC pills or Deproprovera my sister was on it and could not lose an ounce till she stopped. I have also heard of people whenthey lose a lot of weight their metabolic set point prevents them from losing weight. Have you been doing the same exercise as usual. When I was a body builder we had to change it up every 6 weeks to keep losing or your body just gets too used to it. If you lift weights add extra weight and change your routine, if you are doing cardio try upping the intensity or possibly switchingto a new type of exercise.
I really hope this helps. I know I need to switch my routine or I really get stalled but, once I chane it you may actually notice a difference in a few week. I hope thishelps you

nope, I don't take any birth control at all

I tried changing up my exercise, that is why I took 6 weeks and did the slim in 6 series, but that didn't help. however, starting tomorrow I will try doing a few different things at the gym and see if that helps.!

thanks all for your great advice. I am not going to give up...but I am going to figure out what my problem is!

Pammie, is there any way that you can get a candida test done by your doctor? If you do, then you can have the proof on whether or not you do have candida.

Whether or not you have a candida overgrowth, you will still benefit from doing CAD. If your constipation has gotten worse since doing CAD, you will have to increase the amount of fiber you are consuming. Try sprinkling some flax in your salads, and if you are on OWL and are allowed to have whole grains then try incorporating them into each meal.

I also agree that modifying your workout routine will bring results. My step-brother and sister-in-law are bodybuilders and own their fitness studio and they change up their workouts from time to time. I also know that they might take a break from working out for like a week and then resume working out after that.

Whatever the case may be, don't get discouraged. :hug

Oh, honey, I feel for you. A six month stall would be so discouraging. I recently broke a 2 month stall. I was beginning to think that I was just meant to be at this weight and size. I don't really have any advice, other than to say just stick with it. You've accomplished so much, I'm sure this is just temporary (even though it is frustrating).

Pammie are you using a lot of Soya products. I read somewhere that soya can effect thyroid function. Have been trying to find the artical but so far haven't been able to put my finger on it.

Pammie I didn't see it but have you been to your doctor to see if yourthyroid is low? if it is every cell in your body is running slower then normal. Our bodies first reponse to dieting is slower metabolic rate and that is done with thyroid hormone production stimuli slowing down. if you were borderline normal it can tip you into hypo range and only thyroid meds will get you out.
