  • Im Depressed-need Support

    I feel sooo sad...for no reason? I feel tired and depressed. I just read few posts saying its normal . Im eating meat/eggs/cream cheese...and some cucumber +tuna salad (its acceptable) with mayonese. and ALOT OF WATER.
    I ALREADY LOST 3 POUNDS IN 2 days... but
    im feeling depressed/TIRED and pain in legs

    support?

    Induction Flu is most likely what you've got. After the first few days your body may feel fluish and you might feel a little worn out, it could be your body adjusting to the new way of burning feul. By the end of the first week, it should be gone. Flu like symptoms are normal in the beginning. If it persists past the first week, you may want to see your doctor, but I bet before too long you'll be feeling better. All the symptoms you are describing are from induction flu. It's normal, don't fret, hang in there, before long you'll get the energy rush from your new way of eating.

    Just in case you wonder later.. some of the signs of ketosis (proof that your body is burning fat like you want it to) are:
    bad breath
    funny colored/smelling urine
    musky body odor

    Just keep bathing, LOL.

      I had bad leg cramps in the beginning. I started taking a calcium/magnesium/potassium supplement which helped immensely with that issue!!
      Good luck and hang in there!
      And where are all your veggies???

        thanx...so i should get myself these suppliments. I remember seeing atkins suppliments at CVS pharmacy...u think i should get them.

        and yes i will remember to take alot of showers LOL
        so far...just the depression phase is on

        IM DRINKING WATER!!!! i just wanted to add that because i never drank so much water ever in my life...so feel a lill proud

          You should be taking at the minimum a daily multi vitamin, with no iron!
          I have added in a number of others along the way. Chapter 23 in the book goes over the nutritional supplements.

            Oh, and congrats on the water intake! It's so important and will help to flush out your system. You will get used to it and start craving it!!

              Congratulations on releasing 3 pounds!!!! That is awesome!
              Sounds like induction flu to me too.
              Have you read the book? DANDR, 2002 edition. You should be taking a multi vitamin without iron.

                If you can afford a massage, get someone to work on your lymph system and then drink tons of water after massage. I had "the flu" bad for the first 5 days and after the massage it was all gone. the rest of the day I was detoxing a lot but the next day i was fine.

                The flu feeling is from your body trying to flush out all the toxins. My lymph nodes were really backed up. You can feel it under your arms, in your groin area, in your neck, and right in the center under your breast bone ....if they're sore, they are backed up.

                The massage just makes the fluish feeling pass faster on some people

                  I've been through the depression thing and can tell you - it's no fun. What I have found is that the healthier my body becomes, the less depressed I am. As hard as it is - realize that other people have experienced what you are feeling and there is a light at the end of the tunnel.

                  Keep thinking about all the other reasons you are doing this! Don't give up!!!

                  I congratulate you on the water - I know what a struggle that is and when you start getting a handle on it....wow!!!! Just keep the focus going - like it sounds like you are. You can do it!!!

                      OMG you are so right..im having these symptoms but im sooo happy that im loosing weight...im 179 now and 5 days ago i was 185lbs

                        EAT MORE VEGGIES!!! Nothing else works so well to detox the body and refresh your brain!

                        Take your supplements and drink alot of water!

                        EXERCISE EXERCISE EXERCISE. Its the sure cure for feeling low. Ever hear of endorphins? THEY WORK!!

                        Whatever you do, NEVER take Effexor! ( I am on a RAGE against that evil drug )

                          I will definitly take your advice. Its just that i feel so tired/lazy and bumped out after work...every morning i plan to workout but then by the evening im totaly exhausted....but today i am AGAIN PLANNIG to brisk walk/run for 30 mins on treadmill.............i hope i keep up with my plan

                              I am a long time battler of depression and though yours sounds like it is the dreaded induction flu, I have found that a good brand of St Johns wort and a dose of omega 3 fish oil can keep the blues at bay.

                              I did the rounds of Zoloft, cipramil and effexor all with horrid weight gains and miserable withdrawals then I found a site http://www.sjwinfo.org/ Kelly's St Johns Wart pages.

                              It is a board of people who are long time users of the herb and they discuss the brands and alternative methods that helped them battle some seriouse mental and emotional conditions.

                              I was very sceptical, thinking that nothing herbal could ever help. I was wrong, with their advise and the proper brand and dose of St Johns wort and the addition of the omega 3 as they said, I am as well as I ever was on prescription drugs.

                              Most people say herbal remedies are a crock or take 6 weeks to work.... it worked well enough for me to see daylight in 2 to 3 days and I have never looked back.

                              Maybe, if the induction flu is tweeking your blues button some of this may help you over the hump ... and probably quicker seeing it isn't a true depressive episode of the genetic variety.
