jenny, I belevie its important to not compare yourself I know its easily done but when you are older, when you have medical conditons and when you are on drugs you can lose slower.
I started going with weight loss and BG then when BG got so normal so fast, I started watching BG and weight loss became a nice side effect.
Now I am down for many months I ma back to wanting to lose more weight as I feel now I can master a method that works for me.
When I am diligent I stay low in carbs, I don’t crave and don’t get hungry whereas when I carb creep and use low carb breads or too many nuts I get hungry as all get out, crave like heck and am constantly focused on foods so this time around I élan red that I must remain low carb and not go too hi as I work thru OWL again.
Some show ketosis on stix, some don’t. I am now showing almost moderate, took a week to get there but my hubby loses a ton of weight and never shows a color on these stix at all so it’s just so unique for all of us.
You mentioned you lose slowly then suddenly it falls off so just hang in there but DO MEASURE yourself as that helped me before I had my long stall.
Eventually your BG numbers will fall down,, hang in there girl!!!

Well, today I have been on Induction for 1 week. My blood sugar this morning was 120, which was great compared to the 170 and 180 readings I have been getting. At least they are begining to move in the right direction. Still no ketosis. I got on the scale and it looks like maybe I lost a pound or two. Could not really tell because the scale dial moves and does not stay put, so maybe it was 1.5 lbs. Any way, my bs are my major concern now. I would love to get below 200 lbs. but I will be patient.

Well my bs this morning was 120 and this evening was 111. A lot better. Let's see how long it takes my body to go below 100 first thing in the morning. I think I lost maybe a pound or pound and a half. Any weight loss is welcomed.

The hardest reading to get down in the fasting one, so dont despair, others will come easier as type II's have screwed up panreas and livers.

Jenny, be sure and measure so that you will know how many inches you are losing- sometimes its inches before lbs. I didn't do that- wish I had! So the only thing I have to go by now is how pre-Atkins clothes fit!

Well, it went down to 120 and now is back up to 161. I have eaten more, but it has all been low carb and sugar free. I have not been feeling well and I am thinking that it might be the case. My heart has been beating slow and when that happens I feel dizzy and very tired and week. I have high blood pressure and don't know if maybe the medications are way too much now. Since I don't have insurance at this time, I have not visited a doctor for a while. I think I am going to have to do it and see. Have not gotten on the scale, so I don't know if I have lost any weight.

Jenny this program does make bp drop, do you not have a machine at home, ????if not in a mall could check it few times, I had to go off all my bp med after a few weeks as bp so low and dizzy and faint feeling, it stays low on atkins now and was on meds for it for 17 yrs before that.
Being ill stresses the bode and BG will rise, drink lots of fluids. Best see your doc though with all fast changes I would think.

I am getting really depressed. I am trying to bring my bs down and it just doest not happen. Today it was lower, 150 rather than 160. I started to take the glucophage twice a day again and still it does not comes down. Not only that but I had gotten down to 230 lbs and I am back at 256 lbs. I knot why I gained the 20 lbs., but I have been on Atkins at not more than 25 carbs a day for over a month and I have not lost a single pound yet. This is worst than it was before. But I will continue it, since I know that I have no other choice.

No, not since Induction a couple of weeks ago. I was 230 in August of 2004 and I gained 20 lbs by November of the same year. When I started Induction a couple of weeks ago I was 256 and today I am 256. I have not lost a single lbs. This week I have been eating more. For breakfast I had a cup of coffee with cream. For lunch I had 2 fried eggs, some lettuce with olive oil and vinegar and another cup of coffee with cream. I must say that it is decaf coffee. For dinner I been having an Atkins pita bread filled with lettuce and some slices of pork tenderloin that I cooked about 2 days ago. No veggies or anything else because I have to go to the grocery and have not done it yet. That is basically what I eat daily. Thanks.

get rid of the pita bread and all the other low carb franken foods you might have and see what that does for you.

Well, eliminated Pita bread and gained 5 lbs. I started to take my Thyroid medication which I had eliminated several months ago. I guess I need to take it. I was feeling better and thought I could stop it. I do nothing but gain weight and feel my heart racing all the time. Let's see if it helps me. Talk to you all in about 1 week. Thanks.
