  • A Spoonful of Vinegar Helps the Sugar Go Down

    Hi, :wave
I have been using 2 apple cider vinegar tablets with each meal and my blood sugar has gone down .9 to 10 I am always under 100 now. My weight stalled during my mothers illness and death but I am loosing again now. I wonder if the vinegar tablets helped me start losing again?

Vinegar has a similar action to: Acarbose
Acarbose works by slowing the action of certain chemicals that break down food to release glucose (sugar) into your blood. Slowing food digestion helps keep blood glucose from rising very high after meals.

I did notice in the article that the tablets might not contain the acid that is necessary to lower the blood glucose. Drinking vinegar straight up doesn't sound too good- so the tablets would definately be the way to go if they are working for you. Keep us posted on how they are doing.

      Hi,
When my blood sugar drops to 75 at night it wakes me up and I have to eat 1/2 a wasa bread 5 grams carbs so I can go back to sleep. That is the only thing I have noticed so far. Vinegar is supposed to be good for your skin and it supposed to make your hair thicker.

Type 2 with diet no meds

I also diabetic type 2 and controlling through diet. I've heard about vinegar but haven't tried it. I'm going to give it a try. My doctor told me to keep my blood sugars under 140 and I get off track every once in a while but really try to stick with the foods I should.

I was on the Atkins diet but doctor didn't recommend it so I tried SB diet and but only lost about 3 pounds on a 3 month try. On the Atkins I lost almost 14 pounds on induction. I think I will be trying Atkins again but watching for the fat content because of causing too much cholesterol for heart.

You can use olive oil, nut oils, canola oils etc. and get results.
These are my Official Hospital Lab results. http://www.kidsolr.com/images/results2005.htm (I have several years of past results my biggest problem in the beginning was high triglycerides.)

Kathy, Atkins and low fat wont work, it’s a myth Atkins causes hi cholesterol read Duke University research, if you have gene for chol you may have higher chol, such as I do but it’s not from Atkins, just so you don’t set self up.
Now BJ< methinks you should sell those blood results on eBay, some folks would pay good money for that LOLOLOLO

                            High Cholesterol

                            Canuck,

I do have the high gene for cholesterol. I take a med for it which I don't like because I have read so many articles that says Crestor has bad side effects.

I had good luck before so I'm going to try again.

                            Thanks for your reply.

                            Kathy :nod
