    eli, good for you! i was looking at you numbers just today and thought you might have to push it to get to goal. by golly, woman, i do believe you are going to make it! i know you are!!!

    whats keeping you from riding the bike? he handbuilt it for you?! wow!

    good job to you too jas! you are such a go getter! i know you are inspiring so many members with your exercise and your cheery attitude! good girl!

    and just because of the number i have done. i will now go do 2 pushups on the ball. brb.

      okay, that's goal! i'm 301/300

      i had to do it, you know.

      besides i really did do a bunch of stuff yesterday and today was sort of a day off. i do think later on i'll get some crunches in. i need to be able to make goal in that challenge as well.

              I did another hours workout at the womens gym today after work and finished off with another 10 pushups!!
              so now 120/150!!
              I do believe I am going to make it too!!

              I am not sure why I havent got out on the bike really. I was scared by the traffic last year when I did ride it I suppose, and felt vulnerable with the cars whizzing past me!

              I always seem to find an excuse for not taking it out - you know, weather foul, too much to do at work or at home, etc, etc .

              Maybe this will be my year for actually getting going consistently with exercise of some kind.

                i think the challenges will help you, eli. do you have stairs to climb at work or home? i am working up a challenge for that and hope to have it done by the weekend. we get to go mountain climbing! whoo hoo! lol

                i know pbird use to go to some trails around her place to ride. off the beaten path i think. do you have places like that? of course, don't get too secluded, some body might snatch you up. do you have a buddy there that could ride with you?

                and lastly, WELL DONE ADDING 10 MORE TO THE TOTAL! i know for a fact that you are going to complete the goal!

                  50 done for today, 25 of them at my knees! Woohooo, I feel good about that! Had to move it up to below my hips for the last 25, but it's getting better!

                    Thanks for the encouragement, jimmie! I did another 10 today to make it 130/150!

                    My DH and I keep talking about putting the bikes in the van and driving to the New Forest for a ride, or down to the sea front to bike along the promenade - but so far have only talked about it!

                    But we have definitely decided to join one of the council leisure centres next week, which has a gym and swimming pool. My DH is awaiting an appontment for surgery on his prolapsed disc so once we have talked to our GP (family doc) and got his OK for my DH to do some swimming we will sign up!

                    As we work together we do tend to live in each other's company (even though I am here online while he is watching TV/snoozing) and as he gets older (74 now) he does start to feel neglected if I go out on my own too much and so I dont want to join a gym without him coming along with me.

                    Even if he is in the pool while I am in the gym it will be something we are doing together I hope!

                    OMG I have just realised I need to buy a new swimsuit as my old one is a size 32 and I am around a 14/16 now!!

                        i'm with you , eil. i am still at thighs. jas, if i may be so bold as to ask, are you going all the way down, touching your nose, or just past the point of bent elbows?

                        i am stronger but not coming along as fast as you. i guess it is your youthfulness! oh yeah and the fact you are doing 50 a day to my 20 or 30. lol

                              i go down about as far as you then. i pretty much try to touch the floor, although the smell of this carpet is nasty. lol good thing i have to shower afterwards!

                              it was crazy on the board for me the last couple of days and i just haven't gotten any exercise in. i'll try to get some things today. crunches for sure and i am starting my stair climbing challenge today.
