I'm sure it will get easier, thanks jimmie you say nice things.

I loved that ticker because I think it has all my mini goal rewards on it, except the new car, unfortunately

Lookie what I found for you to add to your lists

        Kyodo News, AP

        Kyodo News, AP
Designers of the "New Tokyo Tower," seen in this computer-generated image, claim it will be the world's tallest when completed in 2011.
The tower will stand 2,013-feet tall and will claim the title from the CN Tower in Toronto, Canada, which is currently the world's tallest structure at 1,815 feet, according to Tobu Railway Co., which has provided land for the project.

Dubbed the "New Tokyo Tower," it will replace a 1,090-foot tall tower built in 1958.

Wow! That's BIG! makes the rest of the city look so tiny!

That would be around 258 flights according to my calculations. CN Tower is 233 flights. I sure would hate those elevator rides brrrrrr

maybe i can give extra credit for doing another set of buildings. let me think on that and get back with you.
oh of course if you want to 'climb it' by all means, go ahead, there just isn't an award set up for it.

truely, if someone finds new tall things to climb, i'll make another list and get a third challenge together for you.

              thanks for the info, 2big!

OK guys. I confess. I've been "Cheating" . I've been counting my every day type flights, and none of them are in succession ususally. The plan was to do it for cardio, but I'm too self consious to do "stair cardio" in front of DF and DFIL. They'll think I'm nuts!!

Now I gotta start allllll ovvverrrr again, how sad.

                  no you don't!!
                  you are not starting over!

everyone starts out at the pace they can do. my first climb was one of the mountains and i didn't do those in succession. i counted each time i went upstairs. after that climb was over i decided to kick it up a notch and count only the ones i did in succession. back then i was huffing and puffing at 2 sets of 10 flights.

you are not starting over. well maybe you are. lol
but i ain't takin ' no x's off anyone's name and i own the spreadsheet, so there. lolol

Am so chuckling at this thread these days!

Actually, I never did anything but count the flights I do in daily life . This challenge simply has me avoiding the lift (elevator) whenever possible...usually with about three heavy bags of shopping!!

Keep on climbing pals... however. Steps is steps is steps...

Great Scott! (No, not the guy I just passed as I'm still on Ben Nevis in Scotland, LOL ) (But it would be nice if a great Scott stoppped to talk to me!!! )

All this talk about only counting unordinary flights climbed - why, I'd never have found this challenge if jimmie 48 hadn't noticed my routine posting of stairs I was climbing daily to and from my office, and at home, and suggested I get credit for them here! I'd probably still be in a skyscraper here if only "stair cardio" counted.

Now looking at this I feel like a cheater, too! LOL - Guesss will have to start taking some extra excursions to the parking garage on purpose!

nobody should feel like a cheater at all! you all are doing great!!!!

you guys are too funny with this!
i did my first climb just counting the everyday trips up and down to get laundry upstairs or make the bed or just getting up each day and going downstairs to get breakfast. i wanted more of a challenge for ME and so i started doing succesion flights. it's what worked for me and what i wanted to accomplish. this doesn't hold true for anyone else. and to be perfectly honest, when i start climbing everest, i'll probably be counting the ones done in succession AND the one's to take laundry from one story to the other.

jack does not do his in succession. he is at work and just counts the times he does a flight no matter how much time falls in between them.

continue to do what you do. for some, the challenge was to take the stairs instead of the lift/elevator, like sal is doing. for her the challenge was getting in the habit of doing that. for me, it was adding something that would get my heart rate up. i couldn't do that just taking one flight at a time, so my challenge is different. the end result is that each of us is getting to the top of buildings and mountains which is getting us off our butts and using our muscles.
