Finished the Cineworld, all 27 flights of it! Oh boy... was that an effort! Almost like Everest all over again!!! (j/k)
Now climbing... Ulm Munster, whatever that might be!

Edited to add: Ok... I googled it... a cool cathedral with a lovely stone spiral staircase. How comfortable after the masts!

    Before and after:

There are WAY too many posts in this thread to go through all of them, but I was wondering if I may join the challenge. I have the bad habit of taking the elevator all the time, though I live only at the 2nd floor. Lazy me...

Sydney Opera House, Australia (28 flights), looks pretty interesting. I shouldn't have any problems with this one, but I have to start with a low goal not to give up.

I'll take the first steps to the top tonight.

yep, georgianna, you can join any time, start with any climb, any building, mountain or otherwise. you can go at your pace, speed it up or slow it down. the whole premise is to get you to take the stairs instead of the elevator [or lift, as our brit buddies call it] or the escalators.
let us know when you finish you something so we can congratulate you and i can add the numbers to the growing amount of flights we've done. when you complete a set of climbs, you will be presented with the appropriate award

it sounds like a good time to let y'all know just how many steps we stepped and flights we've climbed. i'm always blown away by these numbers.

          61247 finished climbs/ mountains
          + 13889 finished climbs/buildings set 1
          + 1338 finished finished climbs/buildings set 2
          + 2747 finished climbs/towers masts chimneys
          + 4423 finished climbs/challengers choice
          --------
          83644 total finished flights
          1,254,660 total steps climbed

Oh my! What a lot of steps!!! Aren't we clever!

Welcome Georgiana! You'll find this a most addictive challenge. Soon you won't remember how to use the elevator!

A round of applause to Jack, for finishing the Kiev Tower!!

Finished Sydney Opera House today. Now I'll change the continent and come a bit closer to home - Big Ben, England.

I have been acting very funny since I started this challenge. I go to the elevator (it's in my blood ), press the magic button... wait... wait... and then BANG! - I remember that I should take the stairs. So I step back from the elevator... and all people waiting there stare at me not understanding why I suddenly changed my mind.

We could do another round of Challenger's Choices, and maybe do a few of each other's choices from time to time. Somehow, I don't think we're going to run out of stuff to climb!!
