Re: July treadmill treckie reporting topic

I'm done with my July treadmill (is it almost August already???).

    I said 342, but I actually did 378 total (about 30 mins 3x a week mostly)
    Start date: 2/22/04 347/222/135 ~ 5'2"
    STAC Restart: 1/05/09
    306/229/135 ~ 5'2" 77 lbs down!

    Goal #1: 247 - 2nd 10% (59lbs, 247, also 100 lbs total loss) - Met 1/4/10!!!
    Goal #2: 241 - Halfway to goal! (106 lbs lost) - Met 2/21/10!!!

    Goal #3: 222 - 3rd 10% - Lowest Atkins weight
    Goal #4: 210 - Still on track!
    Goal #5: 200/199 - 4th 10% - One-derland! End year goal!
Female/Hypothyroidism/Arthritis/Fibromyalgia - If I can lose weight on this, so can you!

good for you now you can just do a couple of extra hours so you will know how many to pledge for Aug.

I I'm 2 days off on mine from when I slept in and skipped the gym one day and when the doc said not to workout cause I was so tired,

oops sorry I didn't get the new Aug thread up and I didn't see this when I got back from my trip.

HIIT is high intensity interval training and basically you go all out for 1 min then slow down to your fatburning heart rate for one min or however long it takes you to get there and then you bust out all out again. you alternate them for the whole workout and you get great fatburning and aerobic workout at the same time. I started out slow.
in technical terms your all out is to your maximun volume O2 level ( if you have seen the jocks wired and hosed up on the GAtoraide commercials you have seen what is needed to really get there) and should be when you reach your maxium heart rate level. if you are in shape and heart healthy you can easily do this for 1 min. I use the incline and speed changing settings on my treadmill to accomplish this I jack the incline to 7.5 and up the speed then I recover doing flat 5 MPH when I started back in 03 I did 7MPH flat for the max and 4 MPH for the recovery butr now I've been doing it for 3 yrs and am in much better condition so the speed is increased for both ans the incline is way up for the high intense part.

try it and see for yourself 20 min HIIT is supposed to be as good a workout as 60 min jogging.
