Re: Biking/Treadmill/mileage Challenge! Join if you're excercising in miles.
Jerrica, I bet you're going to get over 100%! Jo, keep up the good work. I'll make personalized awards that include your details (like percent & miles completed). Aren't we all glad that we were the first to sign up for this challenge. I have few enough participants that I can make a specialized award for each of us.

Who would have thought that my 83lb overweight butt would be tackling 5 miles a night!!! I did my 5 tonight. Profit thanks again for this challenge. 1 month ago I would breathe hard walking to my class. Now I feel good and I am not getting out of breath. My knees don't hurt when I walk up and down stairs. I am getting stronger. It is easy to climb into my truck. I am starting to feel alive again. My kids are so proud of me and they have noticed that I play more and laugh more because I am starting to get comfortable in my own skin again. I feel thinner, but I have not lost anything in several days. That is a bummer because I am working so hard. I am trying to work up the nerve to join a no weigh challenge. My clothes are definately feeling a little baggy on me. I bought some more keto stix to make sure I am still in ketosis and I am. Do you girls think I am all ready in a stall? If so what can I do to change that?
I love awards!! can't wait to show it off. OOh and personalized, man we are living the high life!!

jerrica, no i don't think you are stalled. stalls are not something that last few days or even two weeks. stalls are months and you aren't there.
you are building muscle now and your loss is probably going to show more in the tape measure than on the scale.
you clothes are feeling baggier
you are in ketosis
don't sweat the small stuff, you're doing great!!!

12.5 miles yesterday
Jerrica, I suffer from the same frustration. For the past week all my scale has done is move up 2 lbs.. However, I know this diet works because I've done it before with excellent results. I think we are building muscle so well that it is adding muscle weight to us, so no loss is showing on the scale. I also think it could be a food portion issue. I should probably watch my portions until I get a reduced appetite. Do you think this could be an issue with you too?
I just ordered the ketosis sticks and they should be in Monday. Knowing that you're in ketosis is encouraging. I'll join the "No Weighing" challenge with you, or you could start a challenge if there isn't one to join right now. Maybe we could weigh ourselves 1 day a week or every 2 weeks. I know getting on the scale every morning is getting me down even though I know it shouldn't. I do feel better & slimmer. However, I felt down last night and ate an apple!!! I am also doing a lot of my eating before bed. I've got to break that habit! Jo, what do you think?

i think you are right on with things, profit.
weighing all the time can be discouraging especially if you are seeing a one or two pound gain. remember girls, you are indeed gaining muscle and as you work out your muscles are holding some water. remember too, that in order for you to gain a real pound of fat (vs. a water gain) you would have to eat about 3500 calories above and beyond what you worked off in a day. i would venture to say that nobody on this board, and certailnly not you guys, are doing that.
there was a no scale challenge going on. i think it's still in progress. check the challenges forum.
i am not a big fan of late night eating. never have been. i am not so sure it hinder things. i mean, you body still is working even at night but i do think your appetite is better if late night eating is not an issue. i know for myself that when i eat later, i feel worse, can't sleep. i can't even sleep till hours after a meal so if i don't get something till 8 at night, i can't go to bed till about 1 am. which is exactly how things have been for months now.
portion control.................
this is nothing new. you do it in ever phase. or at least should be doing it all along. dr. a says to eat and eat what you need. he didn't say eat as much as you and don't give a rip. lol
eat to satisfaction then quit.
girls, i gained 3 to 4 pounds this past week. was it fat? no way. keep things in perspective and try not to get discouraged. that's why we tell everybody to get those measurements! it really is a better indicatior of what your body is doing.
lastly, keep up the good work!

Hey profit, There is a 2 week challenge. I believe the thread was made at the end of Aug. but there has been no activity what so ever on it. I think I could handle 2 wks. 1 month is way to long for me. I will start today after I weigh, lol. I'll have Chelsea my oldest put my scale in the attic. I can't get it there. Those tiny stairs would buckle. hehe.
Update: I joined the 2 week no weigh challenge. With anxiety, but I joined.
