Hey! Can I join too? I haven't even started exercising yet so I'm going to limit myself to 1 mile a day. Also, I am new at the whole "challenges" thing so maybe one of you can fill me in on what we're supposed to do as far as checking in and how often. Thanks and good luck to all of you!!!

I too would like to join. Ill set my goal for 75 miles. I would say more, but if the weather gets bad, or have snow, it will be very hard on my bike lol. I usually go at least 10 miles a day on my bike, so I dont know if i could walk all that. Id like to go at least 5 miles 3 times a week.

you already told profitweb (kim) how many miles you will commit too. 1 mile a day and there are 31 days in october so you have committed to 31 miles.
all you need to do now is do those miles and each time you add to the total, just post it in here. kim will add it up, make a fancy chart and probably give us a nice little surprise at the end of october.... if you did what you said you would do.

We are definitely in the same weight range and goal. How tall are you? My weight has been wavering around 145 for the past year and I'm hoping to see some improvement. I exercise six days a week and usually walk but I'm obviously not going fast enough because I can't break through this plateau. We will have to compare our progress and find out what works and what doesn't.

I'm a bit shorter than you, 5'5", but we can still work together. Yes, we must get past the weight barrier our bodies are trying to hold us to!!! The heck with those. I do try to remember that we are gaining muscle weight in place of the fat weight, which is heavier, but I think we should still keep on a slow loss of weight. Well, we'll have to do our best, try different things, and share our results. Feel free to post all the exercise you get here, even if it's not measured in miles, just so we can all see what you're doing. I'll try to do the same. I joined the Presidential Fitness Challenge recently and it has you report every kind of exercise. So, I've been keeping a notepad with me in the gym & recorded my time spent on each exercise, as well as calories burned, reps, & miles (when applicable). It's nice to see. I would love to see other peoples too!

Thanks for hosting -- I know these things must be a lot of work. As for the graphic -- I love it. Am hoping my abs will look like that when I'm done.... LOL. NOT IN A MILLION. Well, maybe in a million... but not in a month!

Ah, I think those abs are a little too thin and shapeless. I'm sure ours will be better than those... one day. In reality, all I care about is loving my body. Every week I love the way it looks & feels a little more. The past month of exercise had made me feel so much better. Even in the first week of exercising I noticed that my aches & pains had diminished or dissappeared.
Doing this challenge isn't that much work. It really keeps me accountable and on track, which is exactly what I need! Start the month off right and you'll keep it up. It's amazing how it really works.

Hi Everyone! I just started back after being off for a year and 9 mths. I would like to join. I will do 40 miles (at least). We are moving beginning of November...so I should be able to do more after that!

I so happy to see so many of you committing and being pschy'd about this. The benefits are amazing. We'll all have to support each other. Even I, this Challenge's leader, need a push sometimes.
