  • February Stability Ball Exercise Challenge sign up/reporting thread

    I wasn't going to torture myself with doing this again. Participation really has fallen off but I do better by being accountable.

    I've changed the challenge just a bit. I figured I could since i was the one that started it so long ago. i've have included any kind of stability ball work: weights, abs and so on along with the push ups. I'll try to find some examples of what I will be doing.

    If anyone wants to join me that's fine, if not, I'll be doing it on my own.

    The commitment really can't be a number of how many of anything, since it will be different for anyone joining. Instead, I'll (we'll) be committing to time spent.

    i'll commit to 25 minutes a week, 100 minutes for February, working with the stability ball.

            I decided to go ahead and start this challenge tonight so I did:

            tricep extensions 2x10
            crunches 40
            leg press(im not sure if thats what they are called..laid on side my with top leg on the ball and pressed down) 10xeach leg
            reverse flys 10x each arm


            for today I got

              christy! i'm so glad to have a ball buddy! i think i'll like doing this by the minutes. we're able to add a some new things and still be able to do the push ups. i really like doing the dumbbell work on the ball. my 100 minutes might be understated but we've not done it this way before so time will tell!

              i'm interested in the leg presses that you did. do you bend the other leg at the knee and it lays on the floor?

                Yeah Im thinking that I should have committed to more than 100 but this was my first stability ball challenge so I wasnt sure about how much to do.

                On those leg presses you lay on your side, bottom leg on the floor bent at the knee and the top leg/ankle on top of the ball and press/sqeeze the top leg down and hold for about 3 seconds. I feel this on my inner thigh the most.

                  christy, if we get our 100 minutes done and we have some month left, do you want to up the minutes? i'm game if you are.

                  i did about 5 minutes of those lying leg presses. glad you told me about them. did another 5 minutes and did crunches, dumbbell pullovers and chest press, and some leg extensions.

                    yes if we get in our 100 min before the end of feb im game with upping it! I got in 6 min today, i did 50 crunches (boy im feeling these) lol tricep extention 2x10 and reverse flys 2x10. Im gonna have to figure out what all these exercises are called so i know what to call them
