    Re: KickAss TriAthalon (2) Sign-Up

    See, that's much better, Jane!!

Rich - If you're only doing 2 things, no mix-and-matching. Sorry, same rules as everyone else.

Ironic, the only two people who finished the last time are the ones who don't think they can do it this time.

    Anyway, sorry.

I guess I will have to pull out of the challenge then. Sorry but good luck with it.

Julie's not participating since she can't do 2 and do them at the same time.

Okay, so this challenge goes from Tues April 17th to Monday May 28th...and we need to complete one leg of the triathalon before going on to the next...correct?

Lyssie, if I chose 3 can I do them at different times?

You see I like to offer my support to all of the challenges on the board and lead by example x

Why can't you mix and match? Is it because you're trying to adhere to what an actual triathalon is like? Or do you want people to obtain one goal before moving on to the next? Just curious.

                        Re: KickAss TriAthalon (2) Sign-Up

The point behind the first one was to have it done like a real triathalon - 3 events, you have to complete each one before moving on to the next leg... So basically, you get your *** kicked in one event utterly and completely before moving on to the next one. It's how a real one is run, it's why it's called a triath instead of being the same as the mileage challenge. When you start playing with things, that's what it reminds me of. Not that I don't love that challenge, and I (obviously) do, but I don't see a point in having 2 of the same challenge.

During the first one, there were exceptions made - Jess did a percentage of the triath, since she could not devote the time to do the entire thing... there were folks who went on vacations and wouldn't be able to do them in complete order while on vacation, so they could do the leg they could do, if there were people who only had access to 2 exercises, then they could do 2, just not back to back since that would be more of a duathalon.

I would like to have folks participate. That's what makes things fun. I just think it kind of takes away from it being a triath to have people do everything at the same time. It's not the same kind of challenge... not that it's not challenging, just not the same. I would prefer everyone did it the same way, but I realize that it's not going to happen, so I'm trying to keep it as fair as possible for those of us who *are* going to be doing it that way. The other option I was considering was doing like, a mini-triath that would run the same amount of time, but not be the same distances but I just don't know if I can devote the time to do that right now.

Rich - I'm not sure what you mean by different times?

Ack. Ok, the dates I posted are wrong. Apparently I put them in my exercise planner correctly, but my Outlook incorrectly. The actual *real* permenant dates should be 09 April (next Monday) - 21 May (Monday *before* memorial day). I believe I was going with the assumption of kicking everyone's butt into gear before they have the long weekend to strut around in swimmies.
