Apple... glad you enjoyed the challenge! It's a good feeling when we get those horrid tasks out of the way, isn't it? And in the name of exercise too!! Have to say, I don't think I'd have my garage done if it weren't for the deadline.

I just love the sound of your little summer's retreat. And after all your hard work you'll enjoy it all the more!

Thanks, Jimmie...I don't think I'd even consider buying the rocker if it weren't for wanting to enjoy the summers away from the viewing eyes of our neighbors. We're people watchers ourselves, but our neighbors are like hawks. If we're gone too long, like camping overnight or something, one or two will stop by to make sure we're okay. It's nice sometimes, but annoying as heck because I feel like they're scoping out the place. Paranoia I'm sure on my part. LOL.

LOL...I was wondering the same thing, Sally.

Thanks Suzanne... it's been fun! Look forward to your joining in the next one.

Actually, now you mention it, I was wondering whether to run one for June, or whether to do another after the summer .... I'll be away for ten days or so in June, but would be back by the 22nd, so there's no reason why I couldn't do one. I'm sure someone would be kind and keep an eye on posts for the ten days or so that I'd be gone.

What's the general consensus? Anyone up for a June re-run... or a summer's break?

OK here's my 2 cents worth *smile*

Why not one in June then break for July and August?

I'll volunteer to watch the threads however i need to be coached on what to do though...never done that...so if there isn't anyone else to watch them I'll do it.

Hey, I'm game for a June Challenge! I've got a few hidden things that could stand to be organized, cleaned, and an added touch of pizzaz!

                    Hey, Sally!!!!!!!!!

                    Guess what???!!!!

Yes!!! I'm officially completed my May chore challenge....and exercise to boot. I kind of think these tasks that I got into sure did burn up some extra calories! I'm doing the happy dance tonight!!!

Here's what I did for the back patio today....

                    Bought:
White Rocker that we're all in love with and fight over already
                    6ft fake ficus tree
3 large candles that were partially cracked on the bottom but for $2 each at JoAnns...they were perfect!
2 real plants, ivy and some fern like thing w/pots
1 plaster frog sitting on a sunflower to sit with the plants
1ft tall plastic swimming pool for the girls to "dip" themselves in

                    Added:
my bug repellent candles and one on a shepherds hook in the corner
                    potted 4 plants

                    Cleaned:
Broomed off all the spider webs
Hosed down all the walls, ground, and cement slab
                    Pulled weeds
Poured muratic acid on stains on the cement...washed away
Dusted and washed off the grill and tables and chairs
                    Hosed down windows

                    Grand total....$145
Calories burned....don't know, but man, my legs, arms, back are killing me!
                    Price of relaxation...Priceless!

Okay, so I'm bragging...but man, it's so nice to have a little oasis to look forward to! Hubby just came home from fishing and is already to hang out in the back yard for the evening. The girls think we should hang white Christmas lights out there...maybe. LOL.

Thanks again, Sally! If you do decide to do one next month, I'm seriously ready for it. Might as well keep the ball rolling to get the house and living surroundings in order before we can think of Fall and Winter coming in. The only thing is...I wish we had done this sooner...lol...I would have be living in my back patio all this time. LOL.

                    Have a great night!

Thanks, Jimmie....when I put the finishing touches on the patio, the girls were already to dig in the Christmas boxes in the garage...uh, no. Not tonight. This mamma's a bit too tired. LOL. I think everyone should have an oasis after doing this little diddy today. I picture myself drinking my water and reading a good book, like Dr. A's for instance. Imagine that!

sounds perfect to me, apple! you make me jealous. i have this huge front porch and nothing on it but a couple of adorondack (spelling?) chairs. no hanging plants, no ivy, nothing. i'll have to remedy that in june, challenge or not.

Oh, those are awesome chairs! I think you could have fun sprucing up your front porch this summer, maybe even put up some climbing ficus or hibiscus (sp?) on trellis' so you can watch the neighbors go by and not be seen...a little incognito LOL . I'm so loving the fake ficus. Oooooo...see, a good reason to have a June challenge (hint hint hint).

Well... sounds like at least some of us can dream up more tasks for June, and I'm sure I certainly can , so looks like we'd better do a sequal! Thanks for the offer of an "eye" for a few days in June, Suzanne!

Apple... your oasis sounds totally wonderful! Got such a cool visual from your post and I can almost hear that frog! Congrats on finishing, and all your hard work! I'll mark you down as "done".

Okay, I already started taking a mental note of things I could attach for June...hubby's "man cave" is one the list, but I've been warned to dare even think about touching it without him there. For some reason he thinks he won't be able to find anything that's organized in little containers with labels.
