THe weather has not been cooperating with me this week, so I haven't gotten much done in the yard. I did spend and hour on MOnday clearing out the old shed. We have a new one coming in this weekend. The next step is to tear down the old shed.

Sending "good weather" vibes your way Cynthia!
Hey... I'm getting a new garden shed too! It's gotta hold my freezer and the leftover stuff that's currently in the garage, which I'm going to convert to another bedroom and bathroom in autumn. Are you getting one of those nice wooden ones?

Sally, no we're not getting a wooden one We're getting another metal one, but are going to try to install it better than the previous owners!

Yesterday we tore down the old shed and carted it away and I did a bit of edging and weed killing. The backyard already looks tons bigger! We're going to turn the area where the old shed was into a play area for the kids so we can get all their stuff off the patio. The new shed will go around the side of the house where it is just dead space. It's raining again today so no yardwork today.

Did all the watering at work again yesterday.
Lots of walking today! retail therapy!

Wooden sheds are lovely but it is easier to hear a metal one being broken into!! - unless it is like mine and the doors are falling off anyway!

Sounds like you both Anj and Cynthia, didn't take a weekend off! Afraid I did!... at least from the garage clearing work. Did lots of other house and garden stuff though. Having to water every couple of days now...

Good idea Cynthia, giving your kids their own play space that isn't your patio... so you get a clutter free area and they can clutter up their 'place'.

Well seems like both you Anj and Cynthia didn't take a weekend off. Afraid I did, at least from garage work. Plenty of other stuff got done around the house/garden though. Needing to water every couple of days now.

Good idea Cynthia to give the kids their own play space off your patio. You get an uncluttered patio and they get to clutter up their place to their hearts' content!

count me in!! i REALLY need to clean out/sort out and scrub down my entire bathroom, and have been putting it off for so long that now seems like the perfect time to just dig in and get it done! i'm also going to sweep/vacuum and mop the entire house and thuroughly scrub down the kitchen which all desperately need done as well! im planning to get this done in two days, one for the bathroom which will take a whole day in itself and the other for the floors and kitchen, maybe not consecutive days, but if i can manage that and fit it in, all the better! you know what, i will try for consecutive days, i plan to get both done on either next monday and tuesday or next tuesday and wednesday! if you all could only see! lol they are big chores! so wish me luck...and not to mention determination!

Well the gardens are almost done, I lent my half-moon edger to my neighbor before I got to the willow island, the last bit. Her need was greater than mine, and I still have time.

I did however start on the basement today! Okay, so all I did was set up the new shelves, but I'm callin' it progress!

Welcome Erin! Glad you joined us busy bees here. Plenty of time to still get stuff done and get an award; we're only half way through May.
Sounds like you mean business with your bathroom and rest of house!

                      Nice going, Cynthia and Mary!

I'm gonna try and finish up the garage today (well and maybe with tomorrow too).

I'm wondering at this May 15th half way mark how everyone else is doing... I mean, the people that aren't posting regularly. Anyone hibernating? Needing a little nudge to get moving?

Any of you feel like giving us a quickie update?

                          i'll do some reporting, sal.

major stuff is done. the furniture is pretty much where it's going to be (after tugging and pulling and moving it all several times) so i was able to start getting books on the shelves, crates with knick knacks taken care of and so on. i still have some things to get in order but it's all coming together quite nicely.
i was frantic last night as i couldn't find the pump so the stability ball could get inflated but, at last, if was discovered, so the ball is pumped up, the bike is upstairs and i'm ready to get back to my other challenges. i should have no problem getting the rest of the house in order by the end of may.

june will be taking care of the basement and trimming bushes/trees.

Sounds like it's all going to plan Jimmie... which is great. I guess you're now installed (as in sleeping) over at the new place. If so, it's downhill all the way from now on.
Isn't it so much better unpacking and putting in new places than packing up from an old place?
And... isn't it odd how you can visualise and/or measure rooms on charts to decide where to put furniture, but when you actually get it there physically, you find it sometimes looks better in quite an unexpected place! As you say, lots of hauling and tugging!
Glad you got your ball inflated too!

As for me... "mission accomplished!" Yay! My garage is as good as it's gonna get (until I get my new garden shed for the essential stuff), and ready for the builders to move in and start conversion to a new bedroom/bathroom. Typically, it now turns out that they can't start until after the summer! Oh well... it's still nice not to have the chore hanging over me!

i'm starting to get pictures, shelves, etc. on the walls now.
got side tracked with the yard this morning. i HAD to mow but the weeds and overgrowth could have waited but you know how it is... you pull one weed and the next and the next and before you know it, you've cleaned up a whole area. it's rained the last couple of days so the dirt was good and pliable. took me back to mudpies days.
