Yippee May 1st tomorrow but I am afraid I have a confession to make.............................................. ..............................

I went to the gym yesterday! - I had had a couple of hours sleep in the afternoon and just got so down on myself that I reckoned that the ony way to get better was to do the opposite of what I was doing - so I went to the gym, and I am going to do it 4 times a week - Thanks for the wake up call - its hard with dodgy joints but worth it - I think!

My bedroom is first on the list tomorrow - No Lectures !!!- but I have a sunbed that I want to use - and the only way to do that is to get my room and my daughters room sorted so I can order a new bed that the legs of the sunbed fit under!

      Good luck everyone tomorrow!

Great!! Activity has started up on both sides of the pond!

Anj... you're so right about trying on clothes being hard work: Unfold, undress, pull on, pull off, re-fold, unfold, pull on, pull off.... etc etc etc!
From the description of your day you're going to sleep well tonight!

Jimmie... I feel for you, if your craft room is like most craft rooms I know!

Well... my contribution to today was to gaze at my garage in dismay and decide which corner to start on! I needed to get mentally prepared. It's full of my mother's stuff, from before she died and I haven't a clue what I'll "discover" there. It's been a job that's needed doing for two years now, but finally I can get to it because all the 'legal' stuff (probate and division of property with my brother) has been finished at long last. Yes... it took two years! Advice to anyone: never inherit property in two different countries... we had to go through three probates, no less... not to mention triple lawyers fees!
Sorry... I went off at a tangent there!

Re: CHORES & EXERCISE - Double Whammy Challenge (May)

                Hi

Good Luck packing up Jimmie - I suppose you are at the beginning of the day where as it is nearly 5pm here - time to chuck the chicken in the oven! ooh hungry after todays activities, also having meditteranean roast veggies.

Sally - that is some task you have! but you could find some interesting stuff! - did your mother store the things in the garage - or have you seen it before - so more like a walk down memory lane? My friend is currently sorting through her mothers things - unfortunately she died 14 yrs ago!!

FINISHED my bedroom - ended up with 4 and half bags of old clothes / unused 'junk' - very good for the soul knowing there is no clutter - and of course being able to open the wardrobe doors without everything falling out!

As for sleep - I did hear that if your bedroom is tidy you sleep better anyway.

I have also raked the lawn - treated it about 2 months ago to get rid of the moss - and it was all black! - so raked it and then mowed - looks a lot better.

Have treated myself now to a home hair colour - and yes I did walk to the shops! and then going to lay under my sunbed for the first time in a year! - (couldn't do it before because of post op scars)

Re: CHORES & EXERCISE - Double Whammy Challenge (May)

Ok I started yesterday. It was my day off so I thought I'd get a good start. Well,I sort of did. I realized to get started in my utility/laundry room I had to make room and I neede more hangers! So I went in my and my son's closets and stood there and looked and thought AWWW MAN! So I went through our clostes and got all the winter sweaters and other wintery ckothing out and put them up for the spring and summer. Got extra hangers there and then went into to utility room and seperated the clothes into piles and put them into the 3 compartment hamper so I could start ironing later. Started on the stuff on all the shelves and did laundry in between. Then my son came home and I fixed him a snack,I jumped in the shower and went to his baseball game. We won 14-4!! Go Yankees!!! Got home in time to make a quick dinner get him in the shower and then it was time for bed. I go to bed really early. I'm just not the night owl I used to be in my twenties. I guess because I'm not 20. But I'll never tell! Gotta good start and I WILL finish it. The next thing is going through all those cabinets! Hope everyone is doing well with their challenge!

well done Zencyn - I think weeding is the most hated chore in our garden, and so we have this saying - a weed is an unwanted plant! which gives us license to be a bit lax about it!

Missy - you should have waited for me to finish my bedroom - I ended up with about 60 hangers! - when My daughter finally moves out in about 3 yrs - she is at uni - I will turn her bedroom into a walkin wardrobe - but for now as of today it is my tanning room - well for the next few weeks.

Isn't it great getting these jobs done!

Back to work for a rest tomorrow.
My hubbie and I have actually booked a day off next week so we can sort one of the bedrooms together (requires a few trips in the attic - which I cant do)

                      Have a restfull evening!

Is it too late to join this challenge for May? Our basement flooded in December and everything was moved for cleaning and restoriation. Needless to say, five months later and it still isn't put back together. This will involve moving stuff, cleaning, and refinishing one room.

Does this start today? Cause I'm in too.

                            1. I have a walk-in bedroom closet that needs painting. Last year I painted the bedroom, changing room and bath (all connected) and the ceilings, but neglected the closet... I was too pooped! So, all year it's been nagging me. NOt only do I need to take EVERYTHING out, sort, give away, throw away, I then need to paint and that includes the white ceiling and shelves.

                            2. Cleaned-up my attic this year but now it is a total mess. We had a new roof put on last month and there are wood bits, and garbage all over from all the pounding and nailing! It's on everything I have stored and over the entire floor. Need to clean that up, been putting it off.......well, no one sees it.

                            3. paint the attic door.

Hope this is a month long? It will take me that long.......seriously

hey, i don't think sal is going to turn anybody away for this challenge. the more that join, the more dust that flies!!!

got the craft room done. things are packed and everything got taken downstairs except 3 pieces i can not carry.
pictures are gone, nails are pulled, curtains are packed, closet is empty.

upstairs bathroom is done. too. pictures down, curtains packed, medicine cabinet empty, nails pulled. the only think left in there is the scale and if i wasn't so vain i'd pack that too.

gas company gas been called too.

part of the spare bedroom is done. tomorrow i'll finish that.
