Re: CHORES & EXERCISE - Double Whammy Challenge (May)

Hijacks are great for procrastinators! We get to focus on something other than.... yeah, well... y'know! Lol!

I'd say that though it might seem like a chore to tot up the flights, it actually gets very compulsive and yes, addicting... hence totting is not a prob. I'll feel lost when I've finished and be really glad to carry on and do them all again... or other climbs if that's possible. Such fun!

Welcome aboard Tara! Don't forget to stock up on plenty of washing machine powder for a month's worth of laundry!

Hey... we're getting to be quite a team here. Whoever thought that "chores" would hold such appeal?

As many are putting down multiple chores, I think committing to a "time frame" is getting a little complicated. The best thing would probably be for everyone to report "success" or "failure" at the end of the month. That way, if you did have a time frame, then completing your chore within it would qualify as "success"; if it took longer, then not. However, if a time frame was hard to decide on, then you just have to get your chore(s) done within the month to get the award. I hope that makes sense... it does to me, but my mind is known to work in convoluted ways!

Re: CHORES & EXERCISE - Double Whammy Challenge (May)

I wasn't planning on participating in this challenge, but I think I will now! For Christmas my in-laws gave DH and I the promise of a trip, but MIL and I were talking and she's willing to give us the money instead to go toward a deck for our above ground pool!! Yippee!!! With a deck it will be so much more convenient to use, esp with the kids. And we can have people over this summer to enjoy it. Thaht being the case, I'm going to use this month to get my front and back yard into shape. We bought this house last June and I was pregnant and incapacitated and the only yard work DH will do is mowing. The flowers beds are in bad shape and the backyard looks trashy. So my goal is to weed all the flower beds (there are a ton of them) and clean up the back yard.
Wish me luck because yard work is not my favorite, but I look at it as exercise.

Actually, the above ground pool came with the house when we bought it last summer. We just want to build a deck around it to make it more convenient to use with our three little kids It will be nice to have somewhere to put out towels, drink, sandals, etc. Right now there is nothing around the pool and it's in the middle of the yard so we were always tracking grass into it. With the deck it will be much easier to entertain I think. We live in Virginia Beach, so it is quite warm a good part of the year! Our neighbors already have their pool set up for the season, I heard them splashing around today!

Ok. I'm in too. This is my first challenge and I'm a little nervous!

I have a big garden that I really need to sort out (crossed fingers for sunshine! ) I want a lawn like my grandad had!

Also I really need to clear out my daughters room and my room.

Finally I will also commit to painting all the doors in the house. I bought the paint ages ago and somehow managed to find lots of other things to do that didn't involve painting doors!

Well... tomorrow's May 1st! I'm wondering if any of you are going to start straight away?

I'll wait until after May 1st to start my garage as it's a holiday here and festivities would get in the way of the fully fledged attack on the junk that I have planned!
Is it a holiday wherever you are in the world?

Anyway... whether you start straight off tomorrow, or get your stuff done like, on the 31st May...
