    OK here's my goals for the month:


    * The Step Test - To move up one level right now I am at good.
    * The Squat Test - To do 100!
    * The Situp Test - 50!
    * The Pushup Test - to do 25!

      Sit-ups = average (21)
      Push-ups = average (19)
      Squats = above average (36 but I'm wondering if I'm doing these right - I'll double check)
      12-minute test = below average (just over 1 mile or approx. 1611 meters)
      Steps = below average (heart rate 120 bpm)

      I'm about where I thought I'd be so no surprises....yet!

          Hey everyone,

          I've decided I'm going to post my target exercise plan for the week each week and report at the end to keep me accoutable and help to meet my goals. Also I've insanely put myself down for a 1/2 marathon in March and feel no where near ready yet!

          I'm going to state my plan each week and report how I do at the end. You can join me if you wish, but don't have to. I won't be checking up on you - unless you want me too!

          Mon 7th - bodypump and bodycombat
          Tues 8th - run 30 mins
          Weds 9th - REST
          Thurs 10th - run (8 mins relaxed, 2x8 mins at half-marathon pace)
          Fri 11th - REST
          Sat 12th - Bodypump class
          Sun 13th - 50 mins run

            It is funny, I keep doing this almost everyday (been lazy on the squats), and the Step Test ALWAYS end-up with the same exact heart rate, 138. I am not expecting any better results or anything, it has only been 6 days. But was expecting some variations, ups and downs.. Oh well, at least it is not getting worse

            I am doing better already in the push-ups and situps. Will post an update may be tonight.

              Hi Einy,

              Glad you're working so hard at it! Good to see improvements in some places already! I'd be surprised if you don't see an improvement with the heart rate too.

                Here are the updates:

                1) Step Test: 126--> Poor
                2) Squats: 30 --> Above Average
                3) Situps: 35 --> Good
                4) Pushups: 15 --> Average

                WOW.. Getting better already.. I may have to give-up on the Squats test though.. It is killing me knees, especially that one of my legs are little week because of an accident I had while back, so basically the pressure is mostly on the good leg.

                  I've had some neck problems and haven't been able to exercise, but I think I'll be OK tomorrow.

                      Sun - SICK - pulled a weird internal muscle which felt like a heart attack at first, made breathing hurt so didn't run as planned.

                      This week want to get 5 days in.
                      Mon - bodypump and combat
                      Tue - possibly kickboxing (if summon the nerve), if not, 35 min run)
                      Wed - REST
                      Thurs - 35 min run
                      Fri - REST
                      Sat - bodypump
                      Sun - run 40-50 mins

                      I hope everyone is doing well with their exercises - we are nearly halfway through the month!

                        Still having neck problems and sitting on the computer is NOT good for it.

                        Beginning stats are:
                        Squats-75
                        Situps-1 min--68
                        Pushups-15
                        Walking--26 minutes from house to park 3 times around park and back home

                        goals-Squats-5 more; Situps 7 more; Pushups-5 more; Walking--at least 1 minute less

                          How is January going for you exercise wise? Keep your focus on those tests and seeing some results in fitness!

                          Report on last week's exercise:
                          Mon - bodypump and combat - YES
                          Tue - possibly kickboxing (if summon the nerve), if not, 35 min run) - YES! Loved it!
                          Wed - REST - YES
                          Thurs - 35 min run - NO, did some floor exercises
                          Fri - REST - NO did kickboxing again
                          Sat - bodypump - NO - did nothing
                          Sun - run 40-50 mins - NO, walked 3 miles

                          Not as much cardio as is ideal, but started kickboxing which I've been wanting to do for ages!

                          This week's plan:
                          Mon - Bodypump and bodycombat
                          Tue - Kickboxing
                          Wed - Rest
                          Thurs - run 20 mins and bodypump
                          Fri - kickboxing
                          Sat - Rest
                          Sun - Run 20 mins

                          I tailor squats, pushups and abs around these, and the classes and kickboxing involve them too.

                            Mon - Bodypump and bodycombat - YES
                            Tue - Kickboxing - YES
                            Wed - Rest - YES
                            Thurs - run 20 mins and bodypump - NOPE, gym shut so did abs, squats, etc at home
                            Fri - kickboxing - YES
                            Sat - Rest - YES
                            Sun - Run 20 mins - Nope

                            I just can't seem to get running again!

                            This week's plan:
                            Mon - Sick
                            Tue - Rest/sick unless feel better
                            Weds - Kickboxing, abs, squats
                            Thurs - Bodypump
                            Fri - Skipping (one min ), abs, squats and pushups
                            Sat - away, lots of walking though
                            Sun - ditto

                            Not a very good week!
