Yes! Lets! That would be so fun BF will think I've regressed even more...but never mind

I love my sports bra but I have to say it gives a very unflattering 'uniboob' effect. I wish boobs were detachable...

Emma when you get yours done (if you're still thinking of it) you'll need to get lots of sports bras then.

It would be great if someone used your DVD in a presentation or something by mistake Hope it shows up, though cheesy music sounds fun too.

            Re: February Jump Rope Challenge

You ladies are so funny. Some of these posts cacked me up. Years ago when I decided to go into the army I had to lose 95 pounds to get in. I began jump roping every night. When Johnny Carson came on...I was out the door with my lil portable radio and my rope. It started out reeeeeeeeeeal slow. By the time I was ready to go into the army, I was doing a solid hour of jumping every night with ten pound leg weights on each leg. Gosh I had amazing calf muscles back then. Ok... so much for my stroll down memory lane....
This sounds like fun and I wanna play. It just so happens that I bought new rope a couple weeks ago. It doesn't have ball bearings in the handles, so I don't know if I am gonna like it much. And, it is a bit too long and not adjustable. But, I will give it a whirl and see how it works for me. I will probably go on a search to find one that I like better. Anyways.... my goal for the month is 100 minutes. Unless I break a hip or get a concussion from whacking myself.

              Hey Snap!

Great to have you with us - your story about training for the army is very inspirational - an hour with leg weights, well! I think you can teach us a thing or two.

Can you tie the rope near the handle in order to shorten it? Kids at kickboxing do that quite a bit. It seems ok as long as it doesn't stop the handle turning.

                Re: February Jump Rope Challenge

This is so ironic that I found this thread. I got that new rope a couple weeks ago. I figured jumping was instrumental to my weightloss in the past, so I should try it again. Yeah..I could try the knot thing. The important thing with the handles is that they spin. This is why I need to find a quality rope with ball bearing handles. I'm thinking knots might impede this spinning motion. Of course if the darn thing doesn't have ball bearings it isn't gonna spin very well anyway.... hmmm.
I'm such a packrat. I stll have those leg weights from back then. They will be staying on the top shelf in the closet though!
This is going to be fun. Let the jumping begin!

                      Re: February Jump Rope Challenge

Okay Snap - concussions and broken hips are NOT allowed Walmart has the ones with the ballbearing in the for like $5.44...

I finally started on my minutes.. but it was tough - I did one minute tonight (WOO HOO). My plan is during our breaks at work - while we are outside on smoke break I am going to take my jump rope with me to give the girls a laugh (it doesn't take 15 minutes to smoke and charging everyone $$ to take pictures of me for future blackmail can add up to some biiig bucks) -- I figure couple breaks a day the minutes will add up

13 Jane - if you are going to start a hula hoop challenge can you let me know where you go your video or what the name of it is so I can do a search for it... More importantly does it give you instructions on how to make that darn thing go round & round... otherwise I may have to see if my daughters elementary school coach can give me a training class ((I can't believe how simple it was to do as a child & now its impossible to get it to go around one time PS: note to self - no allowing anyone to video tape this stunt ))

I have a smiley face hula hoop hanging on the wall in my smiley room. I can honestly say that the thought of actually trying to use the thing never occured to me. Now my curiosity is rather piqued. Maybe I will take it off the wall tomorrow and see if I can make it go round and round. I'll let ya know how that works for me. I'm thinking I better stick to my jump rope... which I didn't attempt to do today. I better get off my behind with that being as I have 100 minutes to log and all.

Did 4 mins just now in 2 segments with 2 mins rest - urghh, nearly killed me and whipped my arm with the rope, but man this is going to work - I am more out of breath from 4 mins skipping than 20 mins running, literally.

I got my proper rope yesterday, so will be adding them up from now on.

FBG - yay! Glad you started. I've updated your total below.

Looks like hula-hooping will catch on too Count me in to any challenge.
