Hey Ben G, I think anything you can log in miles should count towards your goal. The hobbits rode ponies for part of their journey. It's been rainy here, so haven't been able to get back outside. It looks like it's the old treadmill for me if I want to get off this road that rolls up and down. I think it will take a couple more days though. Do you think it would count if an Eagle picked me up and flew me part of the way? What do you think the chances of that happening are? Welcome aboard, I WILL Lose Weight!! We'll all get to the same destination eventually and I'm really glad it's not a race!! I'm looking forward to seeing the last homely house and avoiding all Black Riders.

Re: Lord of the Rings Challenge - Calling all fans

Well, 5 days ago an eagle swooped out of the sky and flew me about 400 miles down the road. He was a really big metal one too, in fact, he kinda looked like a baby blue le sabre model buick XD XD

=( But then he dropped me right back off from where he picked me up!!! T.T

Guess there's no easy way to it? :P

I plan on making another 2 miles tonight

Yeah I would love it if eagles would come pick me up to complete the journey, I wonder if they would help me lose the weight too? haha. I'll go talk to Gandalf about this...

Well I FINALLY made it to Stock Road. Took me about twice the amount of time that the Hobbits did it in...But hey none of those guys had any kids or a spouse, so when they settle down with a family then we'll talk! haha.

                Hope everyone is doing well!

Re: Lord of the Rings Challenge - Calling all fans

I finally got OFF the Stock Road!! It seems like it took forever. 39 miles down, 419 left to go. It would be nice if there were a little weight loss with all this walking. Guess I'll just have to be patient. Maybe I'd go faster if Black Riders were chasing me. . . that's probably not a good thing, tho. Keep on walking because as we know "the road goes ever on and on and on and on...."

                        It's called Walk Middle Earth.
i would say that this is a walking challenge. if you want to count running or biking miles, i would and can suggest the monthly mileage challenge.

That's true I haven't seen the leader of this challenge around. Hmmm.. Does this mean I don't get a reward? haha.

I'm up to 23 miles now! Woo hoo! Although according to the journey I'm going to be walking up and down rolling hills for the next five miles, not very exciting? Bring on the Black Riders! Yeah!

Way to go IrishMom82!!! Do you suppose Black Riders have caught up with the leader of this challenge? Hmmmm? Just something to think about. I'm finally off that road that goes up and down. Thirty five miles down, a whole bunch more to go. I think after the next two miles I get to sleep inside a tree. Now there's an interesting concept. I think I like the eating and resting part better. Keep walking!!!

i've had opportunity to check this challenge out futher on the website provided by the op. apparently you can do swimming, jogging and other things that can be measured by distance/miles. i take back what i commented to another member recently. the title of the challenge says "walk" but other things are allowed [same same as the adbb mileage challenge]

i wasn't asked about this challenge and i don't take care of this challenge so i have no award nor do i know of any [by the op] so i guess ya'll are on your own. what i do know is that the webisite has a copyright so none of the graphics used there can be used here, if i'm not mistaken. i couldn't even copy part of the dialog at the site.
