  • June Hula hoop and jump rope challenge

    Bored of the gym - all that serious slogging away on the treadmill? Want to go back to those carefree days of childhood when exercise was just like playing?

    Want an exercise you can even do inside if you don't mind breaking lamps and family members laughing at you?


    Please note you don't have to do both if you don't want to!

    NB skipping can be tough on the knees, especially if you still have a lot of weight to lose, so please be careful to wear good equality trainers to mimise impact, try a softer surface and stop if it hurts!

    NB Hula hooping can be tough on your dignity. Please only attempt it with a silly grin on your face.

    How to sign up:
    1) Copy and paste your name onto the list in the post below this one
    2) State your MONTHLY jump rope minutes goal like this JR 5/20 IF DOING
    4) State your MONTHLY hula-hooping minutes goal as HH 5/20 IF DOING
    3) Report as often as you like by updating the ENTIRE list

    I'm in. Am bringing skipping goal down as with the running and kickboxing jumping (in bare feet - ouch) I want to take more care of my knees.

      This sounds like a blast!! I'd love to join. My middle is not fit for hula hooping (I was never good at it even when I was a young kid) but skipping I can do!! I can even get my 4 year old to join in and not have it seem like "exercise".

      I think I can manage about 10 minutes every other day. ***crosses fingers***

      So I think I'll pledge 120 minutes...and see where that takes me. lol

                    Oh boy, this one sounds good. I'm trying to get back in the game and what better way than jumping rope (I don't even own a hula hoop)! You can put me down for 45.

                        Hi there, I got 5 minutes of jump rope in today. ~~ *pant-pant* ~~ it's been a while since I've done it. We used to do it for half an hour before boxing and I got really good at it, but that was a couple of summers ago. Wow how the time flies and the body deteriorates!
