  • September Stability Ball Exercise Challenge ~ sign up and report

    If you're looking for a challenge that will work on your core and help you with stability and strength, this is for you!!

    Incorporating the stability ball into your usual routine will challenge your body in new ways and break up the monotony of exercises that have gone a bit stale.

    Need some ideas about which exercises to use with a stability ball?

    Exercises that count in this challenge include, but are NOT limited to, the following:

    lying hamstring curls
    tricep extensions
    reverse crunches
    lying leg press
    push ups
    jackknife
    stretching
    slow swim
    side plank
    seated leg extension
    bridge ball squats
    rows
    stability ball exercise tapes/DVD's





    Basically, any exercise that you do using your stability ball will count!

    NOTE THE CHANGE IN THE WAY THE TALLY IS DONE!!!!
    YOU ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR MINUTES. I
    WILL NOT BE TRACKING OR ADDING UP ANYBODYS MINUTES BUT MINE. I WILL HOWEVER HAND OUT AWARDS WHEN THE TIME COMES.

    what i plan on doing this month is working with my weights. i need to do more of that.
    i'm barely making my goal the last few months but i'm going to up my goal to 250 minutes.

      Hi -- I'd like to join here please. That will give me a reason to actually use the ball that I've had for a while. Time to blow it up again.

      Not sure exactly what I'll be doing yet, but I'll commit to 200 minutes this month. That's a start .......

          i just took a look at the length of this challenge. 43 straight running months! we've had 3 leaders... saty, biogeek and myself. it started out as a stability ball push up challenge and grew into what we have today. the award for the challenge didn't come till about 14 months later.

          i may have to go back through and see how many minutes we completed as a group. but now right now. lol

                        linda, as i said, you can post daily, weekly or whenever you get the minutes done. it's not so important to immediately post right after a workout. once a month at the very end won't allow us to see how you are doing so i would like to see at the very least, a weekly update.
                        you could post something like this:

                        over the last week, i've done xx minutes for a total of xxx

                        or you might post like this:
                        2 sept. 10 minutes
                        3 sept. 15 minutes
                        4 sept. nothing

                        xx/xxx
