That's awesome you guys. I ran this morning at 6:00 AM, still stinkin' hot. The weather is supposed to break tomorrow. I started week 2 of my 10k training schedule which was 54 minutes of running two minutes, walking two. I'm beat after a 10 hour work day after that run. Early to bed for me cause I'll be in the pool at 7:00 am. Have a great night!

Rest day today, after that HIIT stuff yesterday, man am I sore. Which I haven't been in a while so I guess that's good. Maybe a light jog tonight, if not a full run tomorrow.

Hope you feel better soon, Tex!!

Jim, take things slow so you don't end up overtraining and hurting yourself!! Rest days are good!

I'll be doing at least 6 miles today in the heat .. maybe 8 if I can manage to keep from dying out there! It was 81 degrees at 8 AM .. and I'll be out there at 11:30 .... :help

Drinking my water right now to make sure I'm well hydrated!

I don't plan on over-training, and I get more than my share of rest days. The strangest thing is I'm sore in wierd places. My forearms, the left front of my neck, the back of my shoulders, and obviously my legs. I must've really been pumping the arms sprinting, LOL.

No pain, just a normal workout type of soreness.

My neck is always sore after a race. I think I really thrust myself forward and it seems to strain my neck the most. I keep my hands loose and limp and focus on keeping my arms as relaxed as I can. Especially during a long race, the arms/hands tend to tighten up, so you have to consciously remind yourself to keep them relaxed.

I just finished 4 miles in the heat. Just about made me sick, so I didn't push it to 6 miles. I may do 3-4 more miles this evening when its not so hot. The humidity is alot higher today, and the heat index was 97 when I did the 4 miles. Nothing to mess with! Ah, summer in the sauna belt! :raving But I did burn 370 calories, so that was good! Hopefully another 300 later on.

Hey, back from the doc's. It is official I have an ear infection, caused by the drainage from my cold. One week of antibiotics, and two weeks of Sudafed. Doc said keep running, I will be able to speed up now!--He is silly, it is not about the speed for me, it is all about the distance. :yes See ya in the am!

Tex, I'm glad you finally went to the doctor and I hope the meds help you recover quick!!

I agree; running should be about distance ... increase your distance, the speed will automatically increase! Sounds crazy, but it really is true!
                        So keep at it!

I just finished 4 more, giving me 8 for today. The late afternoon/evening was a heckuvalot easier than that brutal noon heat. I'm still sweating like crazy, but not feeling sick or overdone... Burned another 429 calories, giving me 799 for the day. A good day's work.

                        :icondance

Off day tomorrow, then back out again on Friday.

Hi everyone! I did my 400 metres at the pool this morning then my lower body weight stuff this afternoon. Hubby wants to go swim tonight so I think I'll join him and do another 400 metres. See you all tomorrow!

I got my 4 in this morning. I think I am feeling a little "push" from the sudafed. I am going to try to add a bit of distance tomorrow. Good Luck today everyone, keep striving for your goals. Ester--how are preps for your big day?

Aw - thanks for asking, Tex!

The van is nearly packed, except for the plants and the stick-insects, oh, and my uncle... I'm having an easy day after an hour in the gym and an hour run/walking home again yesterday, and a short run the day before when a car attempted to flatten me. It put the wind up me a bit and I cut the run short :sadblinky Some day soon the computer has to be packed away and then you won't hear from me for a few weeks! Then the wedding is a week tomorrow, and Monday morning we pack uncle up into the back of the van (specially converted so he can travel in style with his feet up!), hitch up the caravan and off we go for 1500 miles!

I'm going to try to measure the distance we travel and when we settle in I'm going to try to walk/run/cycle the distance we drove the van, and swim the distance we sailed accross the channel, a bit like Betty's challenge :yes I won't feel like I'm there till I've put the leg-work in!
