Bless me Betty, for I have sinned. It has been 6 days since my last run.

hehe. Is that how that goes? I'm not Catholic so what do I know? :angel

Anyway, I did my 3 loops around the park today. I took a lot fewer walk breaks than normal (even finished the first loop without any walk breaks!). Total time 27:00, 15 seconds slower than my fastest ever.

Esther - Have fun on your trip! We'll miss you.

Sarah - Congrats on the runners high! I have experienced this only once, but the memory is so vivid. It was during the training for my first marathon, and I was finishing up an 8 mile run with my dad. It was on a Wednesday night after work, which is weird because I never like to run at night. During the last mile or so, I just got this boost of energy like I can't even describe. It was almost like I was suspended over the ground and my legs were just floating as they ran. I felt about 8 feet tall and I just sailed past people effortlessly. I don't know what the conditions were that caused this, but I've never been able to duplicate it.

Guess what, I'm not Catholic either!!

But....how is it possible to go 6 days without a run? Sheesh, I can barely tolerate a rest day...! I am total running junkie!!

Great job, girlie, getting back into it! :joy

Well I ran for another 60 minutes I am very proud of myself. Now that I have found where my body like to run and at what speed I am feeling pretty good while running. I up the tempo and down the tempo severl 5 minute stints and it seems to make it easier. I don't know why but after you run fast for a while and drop it back to within your zone then it seems like it's soo easy. maybe I'm weird. SO chalk me up for 4 miles and 900 calories maybe more it said 750 on the treadmill but I know that's wrong cause they are all guaged at 150lb person so I am guessing around 900. Not bad for the day I would say Now I need to rehydrate myself with 2 liters of water over the next bit. Oh, I always have a water bottle when I run so no worries. LOL I can't run without it.

        Take care all

Did my run this morning at 6:00 am and man, has the weather changed. It was actually cold. Crazy! Today was the first time I've ran with somebody! My husband was going into work a little later, so he came with me. It was soo fun! And the best part was we missed a downpour by literally seconds when we got back home. Can't wait for my Saturday run!

Did five miles tonight using my new HRM. It doesn't have the download option so I will manually enter everything into a spreadsheet until I decide which data I want. Still need to figure a few features out, but overall what a great tool.

I ran right at the top of what was setup as the default zone, so right around 160, which actually ended up being my average. I ran a time of 47:29. Not my best but right up there.

The best thing about it was I could tell when I was being lazy and needed to kick it up.

I'm shooting for a big distance run on Saturday morning. We'll see how far.

Ok ladies and gentlemen. 5 miles in 50ish min!!!!!!!!!! :icondance (happy dance) From 2 miles 4 weeks ago to 5 miles today. I feel so happy, like I could do anything. I can't believe it. I know I was not technically out of shape when I started, due to the tae bo, but I was out of practice.-- Confession--my tae bo has not been as good, since I have been sick, I have used that as an excuse to skip it. Well I have a pair of leather pants that are calling my name for my hubby's birthday, so back to tae bo next week Tues and Thurs. If I don't mention it please ask me about it so I can feel some peer presure. Everyone is doing so great this week, keep it up.

Effie-I am not catholic either, but I believe--- This was a sin against thine self, and thou must ask thine for forgiveness. Now thout must preform 4 loops and a happy dance.---LOL

Jim-- I am jealous of your HRM-- but I am expecting my new rifts (shoes) to arrive any day now and I am teaming with excitement

Diana and Sara-- Yahoo as we say in Texas. You guys are rocking.

Esther-Don't forget when you arrive in your new home--All you have to do to find your friends is plug in your computer! :hug

Betty--Thanks for the constant inspiration. :clapping

                        Happy Friday! TGIF!

I just finished 8 grueling miles in 85 degree temps (at 8:30 a.m.) and 91% humidity. I'm 63 inches of sweat from head to toe!! Did you know you have sweat glands in your shins? Yepper you do! I have streams of sweat down both legs. Gruesome! :yikes

Anyway, I burned 719 calories according to the HRM. My avg HR was 171, which is high, but hey, the ticker was pumping to try and cool me down, so that's fairly good considering.

Okay, back to work....Have a great day everyone!

OK only did a five mile run this morning because we have a busy schedule today. I took it nice and slow and kept my heart rate down. I don't know if it was lower also because of the time of day. 52:10 was my time. I can't believe I consider that a slow run, a month ago it would have been my new best, LOL.

Plus I wanted to set the pace for tomorrow when I try a ten miler. Since it's Father's Day DW said I can do it if I want, too funny. I felt great after the 5 today and I know I could have done more. So we'll call today a recovery run, and tomorrow is my long run.

Tomorrow is my long run too .. we spent today at Sea World in Orlando. I got some good walking in, but as we runners know, walking doesn't count!

                              I plan a 10 miler tomorrow. Early.
